So I may love Captain Planet now. It's hard not to love a show psychotic enough to think adressing the Troubles, Israel & Palestine, and South African apartheid in a single episode of tv was in any way a good idea.

With the Brewers sweep of the Dodgers the World Series is now confirmed to be a battle between two long suffering fanbases no matter who wins the ALCS and this is a beautiful thing.

I once got into a loud argument with Eagle team members on the sidewalk after they tried to kick a guy off a bus, after I'd paid his fare, for bad mouthing them on the way in. Hilariously they offered to let me on the bus for free the entire argument.

An explanation on why Big Walk isn't available on Xbox. bigwalk.game/xbox
Regarding Xbox

In June 2026 we announced that the release of Big Walk would be limited to computers, Switch 2 and PS5. Since then, we have received many messages and comments, asking about a future Xbox release. We would like to address those questions here:

We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target. If you need help understanding our motives, we would recommend reading about why Microsoft is a BDS priority target, the successes this kind of pressure has already had on Microsoft, and especially, watching this great introductory piece by People Make Games.

It has always been our intention for Big Walk to be played by groups of friends, and we know that keeping the game off Xbox runs counter to those intentions. This decision means that some people will miss out on playing Big Walk with their friends, and we understand the disappointment we’re causing. We are disappointed too.

We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.

We’ve made this decision with the belief that meaningful change can be made in the world, that coordinated collective action can confront even the most powerful interests, and that one day, Palestine will be free.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
House House

Oh no! You were blindsided! You feel attacked! Now imagine it's union leadership putting transit advocates on blast in their socials for wanting one person train operation and saying anyone who supports it hate safety and New York at large!

When the relationship between transit advocates and the TWU is toxic enough, mainly thanks to borderline defamatory statements from Samuelsen on down in response to basic recommendations to do what yhe rest of the world already does with their subways, that all advocates can do is laugh here.

Also there's the lovely experience of dodging horse manure while biking along said stretch, especially that bit of Central Park South with a lane reserved for parked carriages.

Also when 91st, 18th (6 train) and Worth Sts were closed for being too close to other stations the damage was mitigated from new entrances at expanded stations being built near them. He's not proposing that at all here and is seemingly just praying 1st Av and Union Sq are fine without improvement.

This plus they're not prepared for how vicious we can get in arguments. We developed our positions while being yelled at by every type of NIMBY imaginable. The tech bros are small fry compared to that.

It's got twice as much ridership as 3rd Ave, with an even bigger capacity problem at Herald Square to boot. So probably not.

I love how this one idiot saying "we should close one train station" is getting traction, but everytime they talk about removing ONE bus stop, it's "YOU CAN'T CLOSE MY BUS STOP! THEN I HAVE TO WALK ONE MORE BLOCK"

My opinion of NYC media on planning issues started to get more explicitly hostile when they treated far right assholes/stalkers at congestion pricing events as being equal to the crowds that dwarfed them, even when said assholes verbally harrassed & spat on news crews, and this isn't helping that

The AI C-suites were really mad when they told you that their product was inevitable and you still told them to fuck off, so now they are literally forcing it on you. So weird that all these people and the stans (which are, unsurprisingly, mostly men) don't like to be told no. Seems to be a theme

I see 20-25 cars like this every single day. There are whole blocks uptown that are double-parked by cars with obscured plates. Enforcement would take 3 minutes and pay for itself 10 times over.

There are times when a Bluesky feed is pitch perfect and this is one of them.
Post from Brian Goldstone: It's World Homeless Day, and I'll just say: Homelessness isn't some great unsolvable mystery. People are homeless because they don't have homes.

This suffering persists not for lack of solutions, but because enormous wealth and power are invested in maintaining the very structures that produce it.

Post from CalMatters: Gavin Newson backs measure to kill the billionaire tax and ban future wealth taxes.

Gov. Gavin Newsom isn't just fighting the billionaire tax. He's backing Prop. 42, which would ban future wealth taxes in California, too.

(Photo of Newsom, thinking fondly of the homeless encampments he's personally torn down)

Also closing Third Av is a spectacularly dumb idea for numerous reasons that transit people could happily tell you if you bothered to talk to them. Any media outlet taking this idiot's idea seriously is displaying British tabloid-levels of journalistic integrity.

I honestly have to applaud the MTA for having downtown 1 trains skip a big chunk of Morningside Heights at the same time buses through Morningside on Broadway are detoured due to the Triathlon. To ensure no downtown transit service at all through there is an impressive display of ineptitide.

The baseline position post-Trump is to track down and prosecute every ICE agent and employee the same way Germany has gone after concentration camp workers to this day. If a Democrat disagrees on this they don't deserve a voice on the matter.
