Hi! I really like this platform, but I keep forgetting to post here 🫠 but hello, I’m still here! Here’s a sketchbook page I did this morning, feat my favourite pen atm 💖 I’m trying to sit down with my sketchbook every morning before I get stuck into work, and it’s a really nice way to start the day

Photo of an open sketchbook on a colourfully messy desk. The pages and blobbed with yellow and orange paint first, then drawn over the top of using a really dark green/black ink. The pen I use is resting on the page and I’ve written below “I love this pen. Sailor Fude fountain pen”. There are drawings of cute, illustrated flower people and bugs. The energy is playful and silly and cute

Well, it has been another frolic, skip, waddle, dawdle, meander, dilly-dally, tootle and bimble around the sun for me and that means it’s time for my annual birthday self portrait ✨ I tried something with colours and a grid system. It was an absolute unplanned scramble, but I think it worked out 🙃

Oooh it’s a double Scribble Brigade month this March! I’m SO looking forward to them both! Let’s get super comfy and cosy and swatch and chat and experiment and explore 🌞🌼✨ Session 1/ 10am Wed 5th March AEDT Melbourne time Session 2/ PUBLIC 10am Wed 12th March AEDT www.patreon.com/posts/123199...

The THEME for the PATRONS session is: Taking Comfort With Swatching.
When I’m kind of burnt out, or feeling the pangs of an art block, decision fatigue, or when life just feels a bit too overwhelming, I love to just swatch and play with colours and pattern.
It’s an activity I like to do without any judgement or expectation on myself. It’s a comfy space.
I’d love to spend this session with you doing just that. Let’s play and connect with these colours and create a little bit of a colour library. What you’ll need this session: Loose paper or sketchbook, art materials (watercolours, gouache, ink, pencils, markers - whatever you want!), a brush, paper towel/rag, water.

The THEME for the PUBLIC session is: Colour Palette Experiments
We’re going to take a lot of the swatches and colour experiments we did last week and put them into practice for this session!I’m going to provide some reference images and we are going to paint or draw (whatever you’d like!) them four times using four very different
palettes. This is going to help us become a little more daring and, in turn, more comfortable when selecting colours for our work.
What you’ll need this session: Loose paper or sketchbook and your art materials (your choice)

This happy little palette always makes me a happy little Sophie! This was one of the first ceramic pieces I made as an adult back in 2018 after having a happy sun palette idea in my head for a few years! I use this cutie all the time 🌞I’ve made and sold HEAPS since, but this is my all time favourite

I did some mini plein air watercolour paintings today in this tiiiiiny sketchbook.

Photo of my tiny sketchbook open on a picnic rug surrounded by paint palettes. It’s a semi abstract landscape depicting a lake and lots of trees in all kinds of greens

Photo of my tiny sketchbook open on a picnic rug and some cherry pits in the background. The sketchbook is tiny and open to show a landscape painting with loads of trees and a small house/building nestled among the foliage

Photo of my tiny sketchbook open on a picnic rug with paint palettes and a water brush. The sketchbook is open long ways and is a watercolour painting of a tall tree in a painterly and loose style

A photograph of a purple crested peahen in the foreground, behind it is a lake with a small boat and people sitting on the small boat with umbrellas. The boat driver stands up and pushes the boat along with a large stick. He wears suspenders and a boater hat. It’s a beautiful sunny and fresh day

Four days of the Inkvent calendar so far 💖 I love ink, it’s in the top three favourite art supplies for me. So an advent calendar where I get to open a small ink everyday is SO much fun! These are painted or drawn in an onion skin journal 🌞✨☺️

A soft blue ink colour called Baltic Breeze with a bronze metallic shimmer to it. The illustration is a stream of consciousness style comic I guess! It shows a starburst, someone resting in a silver fern leaf, an abstract panel, then a panel of a hand touching a swirl shape. Some dots and spots, finally a woman reaching up to a treelike-silver fen shape.
Ink bottle and brushes sit to the side of the sketchbook

An apple green, super saturated, with a shimmer to it.
The illustration shows a curvy woman with wave like lines and shapes woven in from and behind her body. It kind of looks like she’s sleeping in waves. Very painterly texture but mixed with careful line work

A rich maroon/ fuchsia colour. Apparent it has a scent! I don’t notice though, haha! A graphic, folk art style depiction of a woman holding a large flower. Her body has flowers across it and there are floating flowers around her. It’s very two toned. You see the ink bottle and brushes resting to the side of the open sketchbook

A cornflower blue colour with silver shimmer throughout. So pretty!
The illustration is a vase with flowers and a woman inside the transparent vase holding the flowers up inside. Lots of inky textures and line works too. Glass dip pen and brushes sit resting to the side of the sketchbook

I made a cute thing! “My Dream Garden” Tombow marker on paper ✨🌞🧡

A graphic of me, the artist, holding up the finished artwork. Superimposed onto a cream colours background and some flower elements of the illustration to the left and right of the image acting as a boarder. A hand written title “my dream garden” placed on top of the image above my photo.

A photo of the finished artwork. The artwork is a grid of 12 graphic, illustrative flowers. Some sparkle motifs dotted around and a patchwork like quilt pattern in between each flower block. The artwork is being held up by and out stretched arm in from of my colourful studio wall and a huge plant.

Shoutout to Tombow markers! I love them so much! Also, sketchbooks and illustration! My favourite things!

My messy desk. An open sketchbook with some drawings on f flowers and patterns and swatches, all done in Tombow marker. Also in view is a page of three illustrations of a little character in interacting with different flowers. Markers and general desk mess in the gaps between the sketchbook and page of illustration

A view of a bunch of colourful Tombow markers in a pile resting on a scrap piece of paper with colour swatches on it. To the left you can see a hint of a hand drawn illustration on paper, on the right is my open watercolour kit, all well used and covered in paint
