So, the Cook County Inspector General had turned over a case to the Sheriff's internal Office of Professional Conduct that alleged a correctional officer had a stolen firearm and showed up to work under the influence and OPR seemingly did next to no investigation?

This complaint involved allegations that a CCDOC correctional officer was in possession of a stolen firearm and reporting to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs. OPR administratively closed the case because they could not contact the complainant. OPR did not interview the correctional officer, his supervisors, or coworkers. Based on its review, the OIIG has concerns that interviews were not conducted, locker search requests were not made, or a just-cause breath analysis or drug test were not performed on the officer.

Just saw it at the @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social earlier and I think Batman (1989) is my favorite Batman movie. Maybe my favorite superhero movie? Every frame looks like a comicbook panel. Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson are phenomenal. And that score!! Plus Prince!! So glad to see it in 70mm!

Because of academic probation, I once had to design my schedule with an advisor. A friend looked at the designed course load and calculated that to avoid suspension I’d need to ace every single class. They then redesigned my schedule so all I needed were Cs. Didn’t trust the advisors after that.

I tried to play this game a number of times and it just never clicked. My younger sibling was incredible at it and it was like watching someone play an entirely different game. It’s not always the case, but sometimes to enjoy a game you really need to be quite good at it.
