We've served too many pro se litigants at @courtroom5.com who had walked into court with ChatGPT-hallucinated cases before finding us. Not because they were foolish. Because they didn't know better. Next Friday at #EJC2026 in Charlotte, I'm on the panel "ChatGPT Isn't Your Lawyer." Come find me.

I'm an engineer, not a lawyer. That's why I see the civil justice crisis differently. Most people in civil court have no lawyer. That doesn't just hurt them — it makes the system worse for everyone. New newsletter: Without Counsel. withoutcounsel.substack.com/p/the-justic...

MLK’s last speech: “Somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech… Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for right.” Difficult days ahead? Yes. But we, as a people, will get to the promised land. 🖤

Another year of building. Another year of learning. Grateful for the challenges—they taught me things I didn’t know I needed to learn. Here’s to everyone committing to showing up and doing the work in 2026. Happy New Year.

There’s always a silver lining. Parking lot on the freeway reminded me of the power and beauty in sheer resilience. Like HOW does a whole bush grow out of concrete in December breathing highway fumes?? Some things are unstoppable. Survival is the win. Take the win.
