A piece gorgeously illustrated by @sonaksha.bsky.social, who reinterprets Matisse and does so complete with Chappell Roan and Charli XCX lyrics. Thanks to Sonaksha and Celestine for helping us find these new scripts.

Yes I will support every comic kickstarter I can, because we need more comics in the world, and comic artists need to be paid fairly. 🪄

I think that comic book artists should make a lot of money. For many reasons, including but not limited to 1) art is cool, comics are cool 2) everyone deserves money 3) cartoonists make us happy 4) let’s be honest, they make millions of dollars for everybody else

What being in a non stop month long flare up feels like. And also the general state of everything I guess.
A rectangle panel on top. Illustration of a close up of a person’s face with their eyes closed inside the rectangle. They have brown skin and purple-blue hair with bangs. There are little butterflies in yellow and indigo fluttering around lit by pink circles behind them. There are some yellow blob humans floating in different directions, jumping, wandering, circling. A dashed line follows the illustration across from bottom to top and across.

Below the panel is an illustration of the same person from a distance, profile with their hands covering their face. They have purple shoulder length hair and are wearing a pink top with leaves on it. Swishes and scribbles in mint and teal colour swirl behind the person from all directions.

A yellow-orange Sun like circle sits on the panel separating the bottom from the top panel. The words ‘Tired, but trying’ are hand lettered on it.

Art was taken away from us and we didn’t even notice. Twitter and instagram were once prime places for seeing art until slowly the apps changed and the algorithm took it away and replaced it junk food piles of trash videos on our screens. We wondered why we flailed and despaired.

You were my best friend before you were my best guess at the future 💜 Made with lyrics from Lucy Dacus #comicart #lesbianart #sapphic
Comic of a few lines from Lucy Dacus’s song Best Guess: The first panel is a person with light skin looking up to the sky littered with stars, their hair is magenta. The text “you may not be an angel” floats on a cloud. Next to the panel, two women are looking into each other’s eyes. The one on the right has her hands holding the one on the left’s face. Her hair is purple, skin is light, and she’s wearing a green peplum top with red pants. The person on the left has brown skin and cropped hair and is wearing an oversized jacket with a shirt peeking through. The text “but you are my girl” is near them in a panel scattered with flowers. Below is an open cigarette box with an image of two people holding hands on it. A stream flows out of it with fishes swimming through. The text floating in a cloud says “you are my pack a day”. Below is a panel with a person with brown skin and red curly hair lying down on top of a person with magenta hair lying down on a pillow. The text “you are my favourite place” is woven across the panel.

The middle panel has two people holding hands, fighting with fingers, the background is blurry, shades of sunset skies and silhouettes of trees.

The bottom panel has a close up of the person who was lying down on the lap, kissing the bare shoulders of the other person with long maroon red hair, their top falling off their shoulders.

I wrote/drew a deeply personal comic-essay to map how I've been on a journey of reclaiming my body after experiencing sexual violence, medical dismissal and isolation. Please please please read, share and tell me your thoughts! bit.ly/unshrinkingm...
Comic titled: Describe your pain on a scale of 1 to 10
The text across the panels reads: How do you measure something whose absence you cannot remember
Panel 1: Illustration of a person with brown skin hugging their knee and holding their body. Their stretch marks are peeking through and pain points are highlighted with blobs of pink and red.
Panel 2: Illustration of the person standing on a weighing scale with ‘error’ displayed on it.
Panel 3: Illustration of a floating person surrounded by a burst of red.

The profound loneliness of chronic pain, because it is unfathomable to others how someone can be in pain and so exhausted all the time, and also a reminder of the fragility of sickness that they don’t want to confront.
