To Nationalise is easy, fix prices, raise taxes, they will collapse under debt. No we aint paying that, the billionaires can take a loss from the massive amounts they have stolen. Job done. You just need someone who actually works for the people and will do it.

Most California voters support the state’s newly proposed billionaire tax, according to new polling. Meanwhile, rich Californians are plotting a $500M slush fund to influence the state's politics. So they can't afford a wealth tax, but they'll spend a fortune buying elections? See the problem...

You have to feel sorry for James Dyson. Imagine buying up 33,000 acres of farmland to avoid tax, only for Labour to then close the loophole. We need more patriots like him, who drive up farmland prices and vote for Brexit then fuck off to Singapore.

It's madness to think that Public Services like Water, Electricity, Child Services and Healthcare can be run by Private Business who steal every extra penny they are given. People are outraged by shoplifters, but they are running our essential services.

If you tax the billionaires, you can pay the Doctors, you can pay PIP, you can pay Winter Fuel Allowance, you can get rid of the 2 Child Benefit Cap, and much more. Or you could get rid of Brexit to do it. But don't pretend you can't do either, when you should be doing both.

The government’s chief whip, Mark Spencer, has defended his decision not to take action against an MP who has been arrested on suspicion of rape, after the alleged victim revealed she had complained about abusive behaviour four months earlier.

Pressure is growing on the Conservatives to withdraw the whip from the former minister – suspending him from the parliamentary party – while the police investigation is ongoing, but Spencer indicated he would not do so.

The head of the judiciary has admonished six Tory parliamentarians for seeking to influence a judge overseeing a hearing this week on whether references written in support of the former MP Charlie Elphicke can be made public.

The six wrote last week to senior judges, copying in the judge who will oversee the hearing on Wednesday, expressing concern that “matters of principle” should first be considered by senior members of the judiciary and by parliament.

So, for the most part, I think the whole honours system in this country is very weird, archaic and overly politicised, however, if there is one thing that a knighthood is appropriate for, it’s making sure that kids don’t go hungry. Well done, @london.gov.uk.
In 2024, hundreds of thousands of children in London received free school meals.
Many of them would have otherwise gone hungry.
As we enter 2025, let's never forget that while it can be frustrating, politics done right can have a huge impact, offering much-needed hope to those who need it most.
