This was also a huge issue with EU5. It changed drastically, multiple times, while I was reviewing it. Sometimes saves would break. The launch day patch was actually *worse* for stability than the one my review was based on - text had to be finalized days ahead of release.

The idea that bothers me here is that it didn’t “deserve” the scores it got, and was simply a product of not being polished or ready. When I think the score is more than justified - there are core problems with this game, that are there no matter how much shit you staple on

Even past that actually, this game changed tremendously IN the review period. I wasn’t on guides and thank god, because I know multiple people who put a ton of work into guiding, and an update made it all worthless- before launch

This game is perhaps the biggest example I’ve seen in years of something that simply needed another delay - and some serious play testing, because Jesus. Not in 16 years of doing this have I had a game that’s integrally different at launch than when I got the code
