I had a vision that this ceiling lamp would make a sick nightstand lamp so I re-wired it myself and mounted it to the wall, all without dying in the process 😌

Wether or not people look specifically to celebrities for guidance or not, the actions and endorsements of someone with a large following will always have great impact. So I think it's fair to say that anyone with this kind of reach should try to lead with a good example, no?

I'm also not saying it completely invalidates everything they've done and stood for before. But what I will say is that it taints the messages they've always been so vocal about: love, respect, and yes, women's rights. It makes their conviction less believable. And I guess that makes me sad.

Yes, they went through a lot and yes, they've done so much for us with this album and tour. I can acknowledge that and be grateful, while also recognizing that ignorance for the sake of "just having fun" isn't cool and that I am deeply upset at the complete silence once again.

I do think they are aware that they have a responsibility as public persona and role models, but recently I feel like they've really dropped the ball by just saying "we're not spokespeople for anyone". That's the easy way out.

I want to see them have fun and enjoy themselves as much as the next army, but not when that means platforming these horrible men (or companies, let's not get into the McD/coke mess) without an ounce of reflection and through BTS' massive audience and reach.

I don't know where about we lost the plot, but simply saying "They don't have to be political/the members aren't politicians/let them enjoy their free time" simply doesn't cut it for someone with a platform like theirs in the current social and political climate.

Valid criticism and concerns don't even seem to reach the members anymore. Army calls and BTS doesn't answer. BigHit does. I don't know if I'm the only one feeling like this. But if this whole CB/Usher situation too just gets ignored, I wouldn't be surprised.

I feel like ever since the whole scooter braun/umg discourse, BTS has been feeling less like a collaborative effort/open discussion between the members and army, and more like army screaming to be heard over the "protective" walls the company built.

I don't think it's crazy to expect an artist you support to practice what they've preached their entire career. Especially if what they preached is the reason you started so fiercely supporting them in the first place.
