This pacing‑based rehabilitation and management study showed that right after the 5‑week rehab stay, 45 percent of patients were worse on the Bell Disability Scale, and only 14 percent improved. 😩  Another rehabilitation study bites the dust…

I have to correct myself btw, Wessely holds no hereditary titles. He was actually knighted in late 2013 for achievements in psychiatry, and was even awarded a Knight Grand Cross GBE as recently as 2025. Which in many ways is much, much worse. Apologies for the confusion.

They’re still in very influential positions. Levers of society kinda thing. Also in the case of Wessely, peerage still gets you a lot in the UK. The whole thing is a spider web really, nigh impossible to break down with government benefitting from it

Because they ignore it on purpose, and they're most likely on the take. Please get informed about the origins of Wessely School and the role this group still plays, these are all more or less deliberate efforts so the gov has less expenses and can continue to avoid proper disability compensation

He does understand the basics very well. It's propaganda nothing more, they don't want any spending on disability benefits. This was the whole idea behind the BPS model in the first place, way back when Wessely came up with it.

By the way, do you believe for a second US will honor commitments to Taiwan if push comes to shove?! Lets not kid ourselves who really runs things now, it's tech bro oligarchs with huge stakes in China. This is future securing spheres of influence amongst US, China, Russia, nothing more.

That you seriously take Hegseth and the admin by their word is a bit shocking to me. You've done excellent analysis so far. After all that has happened in the last two months you still try to attest rationale here, I'm sorry but this ain't rational anymore. Unfollowed.

The only explanation of this situation can be found with the writers of Project 2025 - ultra conservative Heritage foundation: Destroy the existing ‚welfare state‘ through slashing social services by firing the staff - in order to descredit statal services only to replace it by private enterprises!

This! It actually goes much further than that. Private enterprises yes, but also private territories directly run by the tech bro oligarchs, basically their own little kingdoms. I recommend reading about Dryden Brown and his Praxis concept. Also re/Greenland.

Remember women's rights. Even with Le Pen at the helm there wouldn't be a nationwide abortion ban or future martial law on the horizon I bet. But that's where the US is heading unless something drastic happens. Christofascists now hold significant influence and will only gain more in the future.

Trump just announced plans to possibly deport 250k Ukrainian refugees and wants to oust Zelenskiy! I think by now most EU leaders share Zaz’ views in private. I get that the UK has to play nice diplomatically bc of dependence but cmon are you seriously expecting US to ever resume weapon shipments?!

Ever considered it is by design? Russia proposes a deal which is untenable for UA and Europe. US forwards the deal, both decline. US uses it as a pretense to stop aid and begin partial, maybe full withdrawal of EU troops. NATO is dead but in name. All works great for project 2025

EU, also andere europäische Staaten, nördliche Allianz ect da könnte auch verteidigunsmäßig was gehen.

Heute mitbekommen was in der Welt so passiert re/ USA-Ukraine?

As an example, look into Dryden Brown‘s Praxis network and their claim to Greenland. Plus Danish intelligence about the Kremlin wiring suggestions how to proceed with Trump‘s territorial claims. I wouldn’t even discount all this as a subtle attempt to destabilize or even split NATO in the future.

You do realize that Trump II cannot under any circumstance be compared to Trump I?! He is backed by a new Oligarchy that cares as little about democracy as it does about transatlantic relations. With Musk & allies gaining influence I have doubts even about commitment to Taiwan, let alone Europe.

You didn’t, Mikkel D did. By generalizing the whole thing. I criticize the Irish NATO neutrality discourse/ hypocrisy, not necessarily your views. Higgins shot himself in the foot there, big time hopefully. Lightweight tankies like him have no business being this popular in the current climate.

I‘d argue it goes a bit beyond that, mostly culturally, but ok. Name an alternative for a democratic western nation with no means to defend itself that isn’t BRICS. In any case, can‘t take you lot seriously because you preach moralism while depending on states you condemn as warmongers ect.

As of right now, NATO is integral for EU defence. GB is an important NATO member. Ireland is the EUs weak link on the western flank. EU members need to contribute to mutual defense. At the very least if you don’t want to invest, stop the pacifist virtue signaling from a position of weakness.

softcushion @softcushion.bsky.social · 09/01/2025
That’s an… interesting way to justify leeching off NATO defence arrangements. Mind that these views are not very popular esp with certain Eastern European nations who can’t afford naive pacifism like Ireland. As a proud EU member Ireland really should know better.

How about investing in your own defence just a tiny bit and at least buy some sonars so you at least know it’s russian subs who’ll bust your cables. Stop complaining about said neighbor when you‘re 100% dependent on them, Ireland de facto is nothing but a British military protectorate.

softcushion @softcushion.bsky.social · 13/11/2023

softcushion @softcushion.bsky.social · 07/11/2023
