Dire's Hairbrush

Ive been thinking about sculpture lately. I dont have a lot of space or energy to do it anymore but i still love it. I guess this is an effort to make something physical without draining myself too much. I dont want it to be a sad piece though. I think its kind of frightening to be honest. I was originally making this to be a reference to paint from but i like it more as a photograph. I dont have any meaning behind this one. Kind of a gross poppish way of imagining a mundane object that ill never really know. But yeah :)

in the background fires rage, filling the air with clouds of smoke and revealing the skeletal frames of charred structures. a large entrance in the center of the composition compels the viewer deeper into the picture plane. a crowd of disparate figures watch from the side, observing the viewer's progress.

all elements combine to create a sense of entrapment and coercion in the viewer, the unsettling notion that a deeper descent into this hostile landscape has become the only, inevitable choice.
