may day by this.is.share 01 May 2026
not just baskets left in secret
flowers on a doorstep.
ribbons circling
a may pole
but the eight-hour cry,
the five-day demand,
children unchained from labor
the Haymarket Affair
smoke and blood.
a spark that would not die
that fire walks beside us still
we are still fighting
for wages that hold.
for bodies kept whole.
for people over profit
in the streets
in quiet refusal
in the rising of many voices
into one
no school
no work
no buying
because when we gather,
something ancient shifts
a current passing hand to hand
a light no wind can take
call it power
call it magic
stay loud
protest
organize
for those not yet here
for those who stood before
their echoes in our throats
come stand with us
