#NOLATwitter. “Snickyfritz” is a family nickname – a loose translation of “little chatterbox" in German. I'm also descended from one of the Brides of la Baleine, which is like the Mayflower but filled with mostly French sex workers.

So this week: -- Stood my ground with a client, with nasty emails from them severing the relationship. -- Edited and formatted 40,000 words in 35 hours for a much kinder client. -- Can see my main job will end EOY before my 20-year anniversary in March. Tech makes no sense now. It's gibberish.

A gorgeous sentence among the horror: "Their trainwreck-laden funhouse mirror of a respectable media company has masqueraded as a purveyor of genuine news and information, enjoying enormous success ... while publishing oceans of trash that would get a real journalist fired immediately."

I edited a calendar with AI-generated photo captions. In three captions, the city describing where the photo was taken doesn't exist. It's kind of amazing how the stupidity is contagious! AI just further delivers, like a cough, the stupidity of our leaders and the enshittification of everything.

Maybe we need to start electing rock stars instead of reality show stars. They sure have more courage than our current representatives, even when it's gonna impact them financially and within their industry.

I would pay real money not to see AI commercials. My weekends are a respite from the all-AI-all-the-time hell I'm in Monday through Friday. I'm just trying to watch the game, ChatGPT. Also, fuck off.

The comment on this post/painting is 🤌🏼. Also, the IG post from our former president is real.
A painting by George Bush of George Bush portraying the moment in which he was told that the planes had flown into the World Trade Center.

This review is spot on. Raygun and Sammy have an odd blend of myopia and naiveté. I'm not sure if it's me being a gym rat, but she was not even remotely training hard enough for any sport. Her defense that women are quick to criticize women is wrong. This is about palpable talent and athleticism.

Yes, but choosing to be like Dolly requires that you either believe in an afterlife reward or care that you are remembered by others as a good person. I doubt that either condition applies to the billionaires.

I unfollowed someone once because she wouldn't stop posting about how behind she was on answering all of her DMs – as if it was a deluge – when that had to be a total delusion based on everything else she'd ever said about herself plus her follower count plus her interactions.

If anyone has questions about the implications of the @ec.europa.eu EU AI Act and @anthropic.com's watermarking on written or visual content – and the suddenly crucial role of an editor/editing (yay!) – I can explain. I'm up to speed as best I can with what we know now (August 2026).

I'm barely on LinkedIn, so I'm shown suggestions and ads more than follows. Today I noticed a total 180 on AI -- posts like, "I've been hired as a writer because they don't want their content to sound like AI." Well well well. So many layoffs, for no good reason at all.

Mugshots make you look terrible because of the lighting. People who aren't meth addicts take mugshots where they look like meth addicts because EVERYONE looks like a meth addict in that lighting. St. Tammany Parish's mugshots make you look like you have no eyebrows.

The bros were bedazzled by their fantasy assumptions about an unproven technology. After they all crash and their assets are sold for pennies on the dollar, someone is going to make a killing, much like the fiber optics story following the dot-com crash.

I'm anti-AI, so in Nov 2025 I bought a copy of Microsoft Office 2019, which I need to edit. It's the only document software that allows edits with track changes hidden. Then, because I'm not a PC girl, I deleted my Microsoft account. On Thursday, the Office 2019 quit allowing edits or saves. 1/

After having the World Cup on every day but listening more than watching, I just learned that who I thought was Mary Carillo is actually Stu Holden. Their voices are identical to me. I'd wondered how she had such in-depth soccer knowledge but figured she was just a pro and picked it over Wimbledon.

The plan: forever warp the job market through taxpayer-funded subsidies of unsustainable AI businesses just long enough for all other companies to lay off millions of workers and reorient their work processes around proprietary technology and then once this is accomplished, raise inference prices.

The sequel I didn't know I needed. Also, did they use AI to de-age them? (Seth excepted) I have an occasion tomorrow, so this means I'll be wearing my Dr. Evil dress. It has the entire "my father would womanize ..." speech embroidered down the front.

I know this is just the least of things (looks around) but boy, I sure would like it if we could ban the phrase "at scale" from business writing. Who has ever been persuaded -- or dare I say inspired -- by the possibility of "innovating at scale"? What a waste of characters.

Reminds me of this figure from an August 2024 article on Freethink about AI model collapse. The subheading of the article is, "When AI eats its own product, it gets sick."
Increasingly degraded images of an older man with a mustache, and sometimes a hat.

if you continue to advertise that your product is so dangerous it must be stopped, WHILE CONTINUING TO RESEARCH AND RELEASE NEW VERSIONS of said product you cannot act surprised or angry when people physically attack you / your properties.

Unfortunately, this is gonna be one of the only ways we can get AI use curbed. I'm in high tech. There will be lawsuits -- everything from misstated performance in product data sheets to hallucinated component relationships breaking mechanical devices. It feels like a good time to be a lawyer.

I had a skiing lesson at an indoor slope for the first time in my life. I was terrified of falling (I didn't) and hated going fast. Having skis for feet feels so alien. But I also totally loved it and had a blast. Everyone else there was so supportive! Wild that both things can be true.

Today I took steps to replace Microsoft Edge, Google for search, and Gmail. Google's decision to convert search results to all AI tomorrow is the dealbreaker. I can't be off Word because I'm an editor, so what I did instead was purchase Microsoft Office 2019 late last year. It's a start.
