I thought it was a little funny that they seemed to think we don't have completely unhinged content in Stellaris.

Yeah the group all took our pieces and ate them simultaneously. Some were much worse than others.

I've had it twice. The first time, it wasn't the worst. "Rubbery tuna that was cured in sweaty gym socks" was my quote at the time. The second time it was very different, two of us projectile hurled immediately. Would try fish roulette again - as long as it's in a group suffering together socially.

I never thought we'd be able to do it either, to be completely honest. I tell a bit about the anecdote about how the team proved to us that we could do it in the interview.

Blinding the guy who was literally possessed by the spirit of an earthquake while he's in your laboratory full of lots of delicate equipment was certainly a choice.

Cyprus is an EU member geographically in Asia, so the "European" rule is more of a guideline. Like the Pirate Code. They said it was culturally European - but that argument could fit any Commonwealth country - if political will exists. (Likely doesn't.) Canada does have a land border with Denmark.

Are the team sizes identical or is the entire region drinking? Region 1 has a strong population advantage that might be able to edge out the superior drinking skills of the Midwest.

Film you’ve seen more than six times. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

It had to wear a MegaCorp shirt.
Behemoth Mutation event from BioGenesis with a Megacorp option to make plushies of your behemoths instead of picking an option to make them more dangerous.

This is my favorite one so far, inspired by an event from BioGenesis.

I demanded it wear a MegaCorp shirt because of the in-game event.

This was a really cool exercise, thanks for putting in the effort. Your board game rankings have always strongly impacted what additions would be made to that overloaded Kallax in my living room, and this one will too.

The Hive Mind voice was the Stellaris dev team of the time, many of whom no longer work with us. Other VAs might no longer be available for other reasons.

The same was true back then too. (Except the business tools were hilariously, unusably bad.) All of the MA artwork was made by our artists, who are made out of meat. We have two dev diaries showing their full process from vis dev to final - Stellaris Dev Diary #342 and #344.

It's also used for ideation purposes but not for generating content that goes into the game. Also as a general business tool to summarize emails, take some meeting notes, and the like.

The advisor voices use AI so we can update them if we add lines or want to iterate on them. This avoids situations like the Hive Mind voice that can never get updated. (That said, the Mandarin advisor voice we're adding in 4.0 doesn't use it - the tool wasn't able to sound natural.)

I had a tough time starting anything new after finishing ReFantazio, because I felt like they just didn't have a chance of being as good so I'd unfairly judge them as disappointing. So I drowned my weird gamer sorrows in Balatro for a while.

I've also heard that one (cynically) as "the first 80% takes 80% of the time, and the last 20% also takes 80% of the time." Good producers that can help keep things on track are worth their weight in gold.

Star Wars: The Old Republic taught me that doors were not to be trusted. This just confirms what we already knew. We also learned that opening a rift to the infinite plane of fruit makes stray animals very happy.
