This is 100% true. Good dried beans, like from these guys, make a superior hummus to canned. I speed the prices by "soaking" the dried chickpeas in an instant pot. Tahini, salt, olive oil, lemon, and a Cuisinart complete the hummus! I like brown pine nuts in a pan and sprinkle them on top.
