Australia has 3 confirmed detections of HPAI H5N1. Two in seabirds found in WA - a brown skua and a giant petrel, and one in SA - a southern giant petrel. There is a further suspected case in WA, another giant petrel. Refer to birdflu.gov.au

Until Friday, Australia was the only continent free from HPAI H5N1. Sadly, this is not the case - a 2344b confirmation in a Brown Skua, and a suspected case in a Northern Giant Petrel which turned up in WA. 👉 www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06... (1/x)

There haven't been new reports of #H5N1 infected dairy herds in the US for several months, but I keep an eye on the #USDA page where they're posted. Sometime in the past few weeks 4 more herds were added to Idaho's total. Infections were last April-May. publicdashboards.dl.usda.gov/t/MRP_PUB/vi...
