Ok, #rant dear tool writers for Linux. Your: state, config and other garbage does NOT belong into a hidden folder in the home folder. There is .config and .local for a reason. Read up on the folder structure, stop polluting home with your garbage. I have 132 dirs in home now. Why.

The goal of a studio should be to *finish* games, not *make* games. IMO if you're not constantly moving towards the goal of actually *delivering* a thing then you're doing it wrong. A rough, finished game people can show will always feel better than a "good" game that never reached eyeballs.

One of the best decisions I made for dictatorship simulator is to write a harness that can play the game through regular user input, and use that for integration tests that validate all core rules.

One of the bigger practical reasons why I don't like using #AI for coding is because the number one thing I focus on in code is developer ergonomics. AI does NOT write ergonomic code. So the more you use it, the more unusable the code becomes from a human perspective. Self-chosen AI-lock-in.

Today was tough. Yes, everything progressing to plan etc. But it is tough keeping your chin up if your project is just getting no traction despite all the 60hr weeks. I'm not even complaining, flops are the most likely outcome of solo #indiedev but it does feel a bit sysiphean.

Just want to share a funny #godot gotcha: when using C#, and you do ShaderMaterial.SetParameter("param". This is a major performance issue because the string "param" gets converted to StringName every time. Have to use "static StringName shaderParam = "param"", and SetParameter(shaderParam instead

So my week long architecture overhaul is done and in total I deleted 4433 lines of code, now have around 1800 less lines in total, meaning my codebase is 7% smaller with the same functionality! #gamedev
