Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Gack. Can the AI be removed or excluded? I guess I ought to just open my home laptop and figure it out. 😞 101

Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Done a lot with my summer, but I never seem to get around to the hard creative work. So I’m reading a book on self-sabotage, The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest, and hoping it helps me. Got to get out from behind the creative (writing) block I’ve been having. 020
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Super proud of these — especially the hand painted faceplates and the aged / worn look of them. 0131
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 19/07/2026One of the best things about our country, honestly. 051
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 19/07/2026This is me, but with my wife and kids — even though they’re college aged and home for the summer. You just can’t win. If I buy a sourdough loaf and they know about it, it’s gone in two days and I’m lucky if I get a slice. 010
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 19/07/2026And now I have one more reason to like the cut of your jib, Jim. 000

Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 12/07/2026I have one of the NES Classic consoles and am perfectly content with it. I’m sure there are games not on it that I’d like to play, but I’m not worried about them. Punch Out, Castlevania 2, etc. I’m good. 110
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Nicely done. I’ve got to paint a couple of the small screamers for the Infernal Master I’m working on for my TSons army. They’re a bit intimidating. 110
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Reading update - recently read: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Bladerunner) Neuromancer Altered Carbon Count Zero It’s at this point I need a palate cleanser before continuing my sci-fi reading and new sci-fi noir RPG campaign writing. Probably some old school fantasy. 131
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 26/06/2026The summer game group hiatus has stricken my regular RPG gang. People going on trips and vacations and such. We’ve paused the Shadow of the Weird Wizard game with one more adventure left. 010
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Good call. I remember playing this in the early 2000’s. I loved sim games back then. Evil Genius was another favorite. 030
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 17/06/2026Don’t know who to credit for this, but I find it hilarious. 020
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 15/06/2026Been reading sci-fi noir lately so I can be inspired to write my group’s next RPG campaign. Recently read: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Bladerunner) Neuromancer Currently reading: Altered Carbon TBR Pile: The Expanse, Count Zero Any other recommendations? 130
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I recommend asking your group which they prefer. We often do campaigns with an overarching plot, but our current is made up of individual published adventures with no other connective tissue but the PCs. 120

Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 10/04/2026I don’t recall that one specifically. I was definitely on some of the others you mentioned though, like Matrix and Eagle’s Nest. I got on nearly every Salem BBS at some point. And 92-93 was right in the middle of my high school years. I played a lot of TW2002, Lord, The Pit, and O:OII / LoD. 041
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 10/04/2026Which one? I might have been one of your users. I called and played games on most of the Salem area BBSs as a teenager. So did my friends. That included frequenting the RPG message board on the public library’s BBS. 111
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 30/03/2026Just finished painting my first two five man squads of Thousand Sons. Still need to do some transfers and grass tufts, but I’m pretty much done. #Warhammer40k #minipainting #ThousandSons 0161
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Nice. I remember playing DII. I had a Paladin who could do multiple fast hits with two handed weapons. Super fun. 000
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Great game night last night. Finished our first master tier adventure for Shadow of the Weird Wizard RPG. The heroes slew a really tough dragon in its lair. Lots of super heroics - spell throwing, a paladin with a fire aura, specialist warriors doing brutal damage with two handed weapons… great fun. 020
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 23/02/2026First battle with a dragon in last Friday’s master tier adventure for Shadow of the Weird Wizard. Fighting on open ground definitely favors the dragon. Players did well, but some almost died. Thankfully they hurt it badly enough that it retreated. Time to beard it in its lair next session. 120
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 23/02/2026Nice. VtM was the reason I first checked out a Joy Division cassette (or was it a CD?) from my local library in high school. 010
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 17/02/2026Had a fun game session tonight with the family. Playing the Hyperborea 2e RPG by way of the Gunderholfen megadungeon campaign. I’ve got a ranger, a warlock, and a magic-user. A little t of mapping, some fights with kobolds. ‘Twas a good evening. 150
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 16/02/2026Had to look up the Marvelous Magic book. Very cool. This BECMI book was the game I started playing D&D with as a kid. 010
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 16/02/2026With a TSR copy of Gamma Workd on it? Probably. Awesome game though. 010
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 28/01/2026This thread is fricking hilarious Jim. Especially those sweet variant titles. They’re the icing on the AI cake (made of manure underneath, donchaknow). 010
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Very cool. Thanks. Looks like I can buy The Colour Forge from their USA distributor now. Cool. 020
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Awe yeah. D&D and Metal go together like peanut butter and jelly. I’ve been listening to Castle Rat for a while. Lots of good fantasy Metal out there. The Sword is another favorite of mine. 140
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Started running this, our first adventure for the newly minted master level heroes, Friday night. I’m really enjoying this Shadow of the Weird Wizard campaign. PCs are getting pretty powerful at this level, so I’ll be interested to see if I can really challenge them with this one. 030
Bryan Smart @smartone.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Man oh man. There are very few things I like as much as a three day weekend. Except a four day weekend. 060
