Daily 1364! Family home renovations are mostly done now, so I should have more time for stuff soon!

i feel like i need to make a blog post or something about drawing/illustrating on linux if u can get past the fact that clip studio doesn't really work and move to krita (which is excellent), literally everything about the experience is so much better than windows and it's not even close

i reviewed castlevania: belmont's curse for RPS! i didn't love it! look, it's okay. it's a fun action game. pressing buttons feels good. as soon as it starts pretending to be a metroidvania, it's a miss from a rose (sorry)

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse review - a fantastic action game, a less than stellar Metroidvania

Our Castlevania: Belmont's Curse PC review finds it to be an excellent action game that forgets its a metroidvania

If it works, that's pretty cool; I didn't think
would ever see this implemented (I also didn't
expect LLMs to exist).
However, this is not something you can PR
here, or anywhere. You sent me a nearly 50k
line diff, unasked for, completely LLM built, and
you somehow expect me to review it. There is
SO MUCH unrelated garbage here. Never
minding all of the docs and Python, you've
somehow touched basically all of the upstream
HDL, which already had MSU1 support, so idk
what in the world you're doing.
This kind of behavior is not acceptable. You are
infringing on the time and brainpower of people
by pushing "your" content that little/no of your
brainpower went into; completely unrequested.
I hope for the sake of all responsible
maintainers that you do not do such a thing
again.
Again, I think it's cool that you and your LLM
supposedly got this to work. It has no place in
my world.

playing new games is a staunch reminder that my pc is getting on a bit, it's normally the time where i'd consider an upgrade but like, a new AAA game i actually care about, feel *somewhat* ethically okay buying and doesn't use genAI is a very small venn diagram overlap so it doesn't feel worth it

the amount of retro gaming-focused youtube channels i've unsubbed from over ai recomp/decomp coverage is getting kinda silly, like people i would've expected better from just gleefully presenting them like "teehee treats to play :)"

u can totally tell by my output but i’ve barely been drawing this year, and its like a self perpetuating cycle where the long breaks make my skills atrophy, so drawing becomes more frustrating so i do it less and its just so much harder to get back into it :(
