But what about commission sheets? Why do I need to make a portfolio, can’t I put my examples and prices on one sheet?

There is a reason why carrd and commission sites are gaining popularity in the art commissioning community. It’s because they have some big advantages over a sheet. If you're not familiar, commission price sheets will often have a drawing of a character (usually in a simple pose) with lines going across the lengths of the figure signifying portrait, half body, full body etc with the corresponding price for that service. While I understand your compulsion to have it all in one place there are few key reasons why these actually suck:
Too much information at once. Someone who is looking to get a portrait or icon done is gonna scroll past your commission sheet where the full body art takes up the whole thing and the face is hard to see.
Which leads into: it's not attention grabbing. That very clear and easy to read standing pose is not exactly cutting edge. Your finished pieces are probably a bit more dynamic than that right? Its not showing your strengths and its a bit boring to look at so people might pass you by
If you already have a portfolio of work, why are you drawing a new piece or making a new graphic? Granted it does take a bit of time to set up a portfolio website, but that is a huge asset you can keep updating seamlessly moving forward. A commission pricelist takes up your time to make and those prices are probably going to change…so you will end up with a post advertising your work that will eventually be outdated! Isn’t that a huge waste of time? Just make the website.
