![A screenshot of a response from Twitch on the Twitch user voice regarding the use of Persona for ID verification. It reads:
[Closed] Twitch Staff (Admin, Twitch) responded Feb 25, 2026 - We appreciate your concern here. We use a number of tools to verify a person's identity when processing payments to them. To be clear, this is different from age verification, and we don't use Persona for that.
Only a small number of Affiliates go
through Persona, representing a small
percentage, single digit. Persona is just
one of a wider list of tools, and we use it
very infrequently. This has been the case
for years.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:cesfi4coh6mknyfonubs7lky/bafkreifpax2uz7u63lpqgih6vo6ii2hjov3pw6julp27xqglhymh5ienxm)
