New paper! 🎉 Mined resources are largely embodied in final demand far from extraction sites, with a disproportionately large share ending up in the Global North. Combining satellite imagery and MRIO modelling, we quantified the mining-related tree cover loss embodied in EU consumption. Key findings:

Fantastic to see our paper published! DHS data are essential for scientists, health practitioners, and governments. Our study shows that household surveys in low-income countries require continued efforts to improve data quality, supported by stable, long-term funding rather than cuts.
