So nearly 6 months late, my #HiyaToys Kelvin-era Enterprise has finally arrived and, all in all, I'm happy with it. It looks great and the lights are awesome. The only negative is the motor in the bussard collectors, which is really noisy. It's a nifty gimmick, but too loud to really use. #StarTrek

What an absolute piece of human garbage. Scum isn't a harsh enough word for him. Not only are you endangering people who have already undergone hardships we can't even imagine, you're endangering volunteers who just want to save lives. If there's any justice, they'll lock his racist ass up.

One of the worst parts about being a writer of so-called "spicy" works is that so many writing sites, communities and people exclude your work. Like you're something lesser because you've chosen to write porn fiction instead of something highbrow or family-friendly. It's depressing sometimes.

Stop doing this. Stop hiding it, stop pretending it didn't happen. If you think it doesn't work today, then just add a disclaimer that times have changed, that what was acceptable then is no longer acceptable now. Stop trying to sweep uncomfortable things under the rug. #Censorship #MitchellandWebb

Took my daughter to see Whisper of the Heart tonight. I think she struggled with it a bit as it's mostly a very character driven film about high school kids discovering who they are and what they want to do and not a lot really HAPPENS in it. Sweet movie, though. #StudioGhibli #CountryRoads #IYKYK

So that was Transformers - The Movie, the 40th anniversary and narratively it's a mess. The dialogue is, for the most part, just there to get us from one set piece to the next. Characters don't TALK to one another, they just spout lines that are only tangentially connected to what went before.

Ed was in a fucked up position. He knew it. His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before. He told me that the words
"Free Palestine" and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, "I don't take sides."

In honour of #StarTrek's 60th anniversary, here's all the reasons The Search for Spock doesn't deserve to get lumped in with the "all the odd movies are bad" trope. 1. It gave us Christopher Lloyd as a Klingon. 2. It introduced us to the second most iconic Klingon Ship, the Bird of Prey.

Thought about going to the Transformers store in Battersea, then saw the ludicrous prices they're charging for most things. Nah. Think I'll pass. Even standard releases seem to be pricier than I can find them for in my local toy store, presumably because it's in a stupidly expensive location.
