Each boss gives a renown level, once per week, difficulty doesn't matter~ so if you run normal you'll get a renown level per boss, but if you run heroic after you won't get renown for them

Looks like the Shadowlands skip has finally been fixed and given a way that likely won't break in future patches; talk to Overseer Kah-Delen and he has an option to skip the campaign Tested on two characters who were trapped in the leveling campaign from past bugs
