The way human beings speak is so heartbreaking to me – we never sound the way we want to sound. We’re always stopping ourselves in mid–sentence because we’re so terrified of saying the wrong thing. Speaking is a kind of misery.

i understand that feeling of needing to bottle up your guilt, not burden other people with it. you think you’re protecting them from your toxicity, you convince yourself that you’re being selfless, but… it comes out in other ways and it infects everything
