This is the most remarkable story Ray Bradbury ever shared with me. He told it to me late one night, sitting in his den of antiquities and mementos. Take five minutes to read this. It’s pure magic. #Writing #Living #Creativity #RayBradbury #BookSky

I took only three pictures over the weekend. My scribble in "Produkt" magazine that rhyme with @sldz.bsky.social scribble, a cool squirrell and our alternative afterparty with snacks and new video by Robert Makłowicz. I don't have any picture of the actual festival, cause things were too busy.

A picture of my cartoony alter-ego dressed like Niedźwiedź from "Osiedle Swoboda" drawn next to actual Niedźwiedź from "Osiedle Swoboda" drawn by Michał Śledziński.

Super cool squirrell sitting on a tree on my way to the Festival in the morning.

Bed with snacks, cheeses, raddishes and italian ham. And there is a sexy Robert Makłowicz swimming on a video being played on a phone. That's what I call an afterparty these days, I guess.

In May of 1940 there was a mass panic in Britain - stirred up by the tabloid press - about 'fighting aged men' who had come to Britain as 'refugees' posing a threat to the women and children of this country - and essentially forming a 'fifth column' that could, at any moment rise up against everyone

Yesterday’s Zelda Direct unlocked a long-forgotten compartment in my brain. Back in 2008 I made an almost 30-second animated parody of the game (assembled in Windows Movie Maker🙃). It’s very much unfinished, but also… quite the bizarre little artifact.

In September, I’ll be visiting Gorlice (September 13) and Łódź (September 18–20), so I had to take another look at the archives. While I was at it, I realized I haven’t posted many drawings here lately. How about a quick 🧵? 1. Alan Moore's portrait 2. Hydrozagadka movie poster 3. Book illustration

A portrait of comic book writer Alan Moore, drawn with vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes.

A poster for the cult Polish film “Hydrozagadka,” one of the very few Polish films featuring a superhero character. The film was a 1971 comedy directed by Andrzej Kondratiuk. The poster features the film’s main characters; at the very top, superhero Ace is taking off his shirt or coat, revealing his symbol (letter A in a circle).

In Warsaw, water disappears during the hottest days. A scientist, Professor Milczarek, tries in vain to solve the mystery of the disappearing water. He is aided by a superhero codenamed Ace, who takes on a mysterious, demonic adversary. The trail leads to the villain Dr. Plama, who is conducting shady business with the maharaja of the desert kingdom of Kabur.

An illustration from the book On Interactive Narrative by various authors, edited by Bartłomiej Kluska (published by CKNI, 2023). In the black-and-white illustration, we see a woman in a black suit whose head is surrounded by a sphere made up of numerous white dots.

I really wanted to address this take by @mtsw.bsky.social and they have fairly closed it off, but I am going to use a screenshot because I think this is a really good topic to discuss and as someone for whom this is my entire job and has been for over a decade now I actually agree and disagree... 🧵

everyone — consumers, publishers, writers — would wind up better off if web browser ad-blockers didn't exist and the rationalizations for using one are mostly clever justifications for what's just selfish behavior with obvious negative social consequences.

> Counterpoint - I like using the Internet to read articles and the ad blocker is the thing which makes that possible.

> Would the writers and publishers be better off if I didn't visit their website?

i mean if they are financially supported by advertising and you are a free-rider who views their content without seeing any advertisements, yes they are almost tautologically better off if you never visit their website
