Very pleased to share the first article from my research project on the history clinical research and biological psychiatry, published open access in Isis. Exactly! The chapter on "sex surgery" in his book "Sex by Prescription," which came out in 1980, the year after Raymond's book, is directly inspired by her agenda.

In his 1st lecture in front of almost 1000 people Dipesh Chakrabarty traced the long arc of anti-colonial constructions of a shared present, from Vera Zasulich to Ambedkar, and the processes that threw that shared “now-time” as well as the very idea of a shared future into crisis.

Thanks for sharing! Researching medical practices is key, but can be complicated by the challenges of accessing medical records. Trans medical archives are often not as well-organized as those for other patient groups, making the process even more complicated, on top of the ethical considerations.
