a gofundme has been started for my aunt Jess, who was struck by a 2024 Ford Ranger while crossing the street in Bennington, VT. she is stable, but sustained many injuries and has a long road to recovery. if you are able to give, or share, we’d all be grateful. gofund.me/eb614a76a

within 20 minutes of landing at the airport, someone turned on a bluetooth speaker and started blasting Rude Boy by Rihanna. yep, i'm back in upstate NY. it's home.

i did not want to be traveling today, but family is more important than anything else right now. at least the sky is beautiful, and let it be known i'm going to make the most of it. life is short and precious. hold on to your people tightly.

yeah, same here. it has been... a lot. my aunt was hit by a car and is pretty badly injured, so i'm taking the first flights home tomorrow. this comes after my littlest brother broke his arm falling off a slide on the playground. no idea what is happening anymore but my anxiety is at an 11 lol

my partner and i were talking in the car, and he reminded me that October 16th is coming fast. so i think those of us preordering iPhone Duo need to be prepared for the amount of surge we're going to see compared to the 18 Pro/Pro Max launch* *i had issues on 18 Pro/Pro Max launch day :D

after running, you may want to consider running the below command to restart the Dock. it doesn't always take plist edits immediately. killall Dock

the solution to Golden Gate’s “running in background” thing, if it’s something you hate like i do, might be to run this command: defaults write com.apple.dock static-only 1 after i decided to mess around and run that for fun, i haven’t seen any running in background apps... (1/2)

eh, idk about that. Xbox has literally been imploding for years, primarily under Phil Spencer but now we’re seeing the effects of that under Asha who (for what it’s worth) has been trying to stop it but can’t. Satya Nadella’s dumb ass isn’t helping either lol

Today's release of #TapestryApp 2 is nothing short of amazing. The ability to post to Bluesky and sync your reading position means it's a better Bluesky app than Bluesky & it's only getting better. Please support us if you can + spread the word. Thx all! 🙏 blog.iconfactory.com/2026/09/icon...

Top right corner of the pop up when it says “Webpage not available” tap the three dot menu in the top right > Use this network as-is > Open Chrome/default web browser directly > type wifilauncher(.)com without the parentheses > Connect/whatever it says and you’re done. i maintain it’s dumb.

100

Slade Watkins 🏳️‍🌈 @sladew.sackettalum.net · 19/09/2026

for anyone wondering, at least for JFK Airport, connect to the generic “Boingo Hotspot” network on your Android phone.

100

Slade Watkins 🏳️‍🌈 @sladew.sackettalum.net · 19/09/2026

figured out a workaround for connecting and i’m pissed about it! how about we just support Enhanced Open and go back to simple login screens that don’t require mental gymnastics? that would make life simpler.

100

Slade Watkins 🏳️‍🌈 @sladew.sackettalum.net · 19/09/2026

IMO, either have an Enhanced Open network or don’t bother having “free Wi-Fi.” this is an awful experience.
