Upon reflection, I realized that I’m scared of this because my dad has always made fun of autistic people and treated them as ‘less-than.’ There are three diagnoses that I’ve always been terrified to get as a patient because of my father: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism.

So my surgeon’s office did my after photo on Monday. I’ve lost 117lbs. I cannot believe the difference between these two pictures. In the one on the left, I was 320lbs. In the one on the right, I am 203lbs. What a difference a year makes!
