Zenodo is an archiving service. Lots of legitimate journals archive their contents on Zenodo in case the organizations publishing them cease to exist. Some small but legitimate journals use it for hosting in addition to archiving. This unfortunately meets the ICZN requirements for "published work"

It's in an obscure zoology journal that mostly publishes entomology and modern herpetology articles, written by the editors themselves. Clearly a small time operation but sufficient to qualify as published under the iczn.

And yes, this was scanned the old-fashioned way with an overhead book scanner with care taken not to damage the book. After I scanned it, the book was returned to the library so that people will be able to consult it for decades to come.

Yep. When ChatGPT first came out, I tried to see if I could use it for phylogenetic matrix editing. And it was less than useless. I asked it to pre-populate an OTU with ? states and it returned a corrupted file. Then I asked it to generate a string of a certain number of question marks so
