Proud to present my lifesize T. rex head, affectionately named Hannibal. I created this myself from start to finish- digital sculpture, resin 3D printing, painting, etc. Huge thanks to my friend @rj-palmer.com for instrumental crits and redlines during the sculpting process.

Keenan reached out to us for consulting on this episode 2 months ago, adamant on restoring cheetahs. It's incredible to see the level of effort and detail Keenan puts into his work because it wasn't at all necessary; Kaimere is fictional work, yet he wants it to feel believeable.

Cheetahs are remarkable predators, with peerless speed and surprising adaptability. Though wild cheetahs are extinct in the known world, they are quite successful in realms beyond, thriving in the badlands such as deserts, mountains, and arid forests. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojSu...

The Permian Islands have a great many domesticated flora and fauna. Among the most important are the manticores ridden like horses, gorgons used for meat and labor, and fauns with long wool. Link to episode: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm0y...

In tomorrow's episode, among many other subjects of domesticated fauna, we will discuss the three main types of dragon (shortwing, longwing, and broadwing), their origins, their distinctions, and their possible future.

Unofficial chart (sizes may change a bit) of dragon characters I've drawn for Pact of the Dragon! Thanks to those who have sent in funds for these guys. I deeply appreciate it! Since the book would be a lot more expensive with color illustrations inside, I'm gunna fit as many on the back as I can!

In the context of Pact of the Dragon, 'wyvern' is the term I use for wild species of Dracotherium, while 'dragon' refers to the population of domesticated mountain wyverns that have since gone feral after the collapse of the dynasty of witches that made them oversized familiars.
1205
Keenan Taylor @talesofkaimere.bsky.social · 15/06/2026
Though feral dragons are primarily derived from the now-extinct mountain wyvern, the dragonriders are said to have incorporated both green and common wyverns into their domesticated stock for a range of traits.

Luhokewa the Copper Guardian is an old dominant male we meet in Pact of the Dragon. The green pigments in his skin and fur are relics of early integration of jungle wyvern into the population of domesticated mountain wyverns. He bears tall horns and long beard of a resident buck.

Snagglehorn is one of my dragon characters and I'm so excited to design him. Was inspired by these fuckass goats with extra and wonky horns. Most dragon bucks shed horn sheaths in winter or spring but not Snagglehorn. Inspired by cervids that get 'devil's antlers' and don't shed.

The green or jungle wyvern is the smallest of the three species of Dracotherium. They are proficient climbers though often hunt on the ground. They have short yet very broad wings compared to their relatives, helping to fly in their dense forest home.

Some mosasaurs and a mosasword. The sigil of Clan Vugalanex, a noble Briken family, is a roaring white serpent. Their ancestor was said to have been saved from drowning by an albino mosasaur. This motif is often worked into their swords, such as that of Lord Anakules, here.

The Ka’he Kuln sphinx (top) and the bast (bottom) are two sphinx species we will meet in Pact of the Dragon. Sphinxes are a family of gomphocorn eborfeltherian therocephalians, and are small to top order carnivores in forested habitat of the Permian Islands.

Some sketches made for the recent #Kaimere episode on Manticores, depicting a wild individual grooming itself with its wrist/ankle glands and a small caravan of domestic individuals returning home from a roo-hog hunt. #specevo #fantasy #cynodonts #permian
A black-and-white pencil sketch of a wild Manticore (vaguely horse-like fictional cynodont) sitting down to groom itself with glands. One arm is lifted over its downward-pointed snout, and behind it the porcupine-like spiked tail lays flat on the ground.A black-and-white pencil sketch of a group of three domestic Manticores (fictional horse-like cynodonts with spiked tails) walking in single-file on a well-worn dirt road, surrounded by dense ferns and tall trees on either side. The first one (furthest from the viewer) has a rider wearing cone-shaped headgear, the second one has the large, kangaroo-like hind-limbs of a hunted Roo-hog tied to its back, and the third one has the horned head of that Roo-hog tied to its back. The two individuals in the back have various amounts of spotting on their fur, the one in front does not.

Working so much on a spitting cobra-inspired dragon has me contemplating other projectile venom concepts. This is a multituberculate that ‘spits’ venom from its foot spurs.

Keenan Taylor @talesofkaimere.bsky.social · 30/04/2026
There are numerous proposals for why draconiiformes eject venom. Pithedactyl cynodonts like Papiognathus are thought to be the most likely factor. These were very successful arboreal omnivores that competed with and hunted little dragons, and may have been capable throwers.

The basilisk, called vanyu by Kaimerans of the Free-States, is a small therocephalian dragon found in much of the temperate range of the known world. Like their legendary namesake, they are rivals to mustelids that compete for the same small rodent prey. youtu.be/4cJgIga_Rz4

Yes, *another* update of the motomazor, Kaimere's marine apex predator! The motomazor in the northern oceans episode was close. Very close, and they work fine as individual characters, but I wanted something a bit more streamlined for the profile representing typical specimens.

Concepts for arms and armor for Pact of the Dragon. The helms use split dragon fangs, inspired by boar tusk helmets described in the Iliad. Pronged bronze swords homage dragon horns, inspired by Zulfiqar, sword of Ali. They are crafted more to evoke dragons over efficiency.
