No shame in skipping! Resonance takes place 15 years before Innocence, and can be played as a stand-alone game. I actually haven't played innocence, but did play and enjoy Requiem. Almost done with Resonance and I would have enjoyed it even if I hadn't played Requiem!

I had the same revelation with both Our Lady Peace and Matthew Good Band a while back, where they were both just so ubiquitous on radio and tv from the 90s to the mid 2000s that it just never occurred to me that they weren't bands that other countries, the US at least, didn't know just as well haha

I worked on a cover for a kids' novel about sorcery this spring, and it's finally been revealed! The title translates to "The Day I Failed My Sorcery Exam". Written by Jean-Philippe Morasse.

These specific colours + these textures + the in-pantry framing + the shading and the lighting/negative space that that all of that comes together to create is activating the same areas of my brain that usually only making something myself sets off. This is so satisfying to LOOK at, I love it!

My condolences! I got 3lbs of them for $10 at the farmer's market and made pesto with 2lbs of them, so the last 2 weeks have been filled with pesto mayo, pesto garlic bread, pesto pizza and creamy pesto pasta sauce. I missed out last year and was so upset that I set reminders a year in advance.

and the only way to escape it ended up being just deleting all of my scheduled posts, emptying the trash and then manually redoing them one at a time and letting them post in real time vs scheduling them all 30 seconds apart. Never had this happen before! Mad about it!

I want to apologize to people who need transcripts to read comics--our comic does not have them. It's not that I don't want them, it's that I have been making this comic for 15 years and our archive will require more than 700 pages of transcripts. It's a colossal undertaking that I do not personally have time for, and cannot afford to pay someone to do for me. It's in my goals list, and any new project I make WILL have them as a default, but I am struggling right now and I just do not have the capacity to add this to my plate at the moment.

I try to make sure that every image I post on bsky has descriptive text, but I would feel really awful if someone who needs descriptive text saw that I do that here, only to visit our website and realize we have none. Descriptive text was not on my radar when we started! I wish it had been!

I usually get through this stage really fast, but it takes a while to get used to new colour schemes/lighting when a scene changes + some of these pages have like 20 little alien guys in a single panel, which, for some reason, is a thing I thought would be super fun when we storyboarded this!

Update: used some pesto to make pesto mayo (literally just put a tbsp of pesto into a couple tbsp of mayo, I do not make my own mayo lol) and put it on my sub and WOW EXTREMELY GOOD. My plan is to make a creamy pasta with some this upcoming week and I WILL be adding some sausage to it.

I love the farmer's market so much! $10 for 3lbs of garlic scapes, and now I have made two giant jars of pesto and put the last lb of scapes into the freezer, pre-chopped, to use for more pesto or maybe a stirfry in the near future. We are doing subs for dinner tonight, it's gonna be so delicious!

It sucks to know that we paid so much for xrays that didnt tell us what was wrong, but they did technically tell us what *wasn't* wrong, which made going forward with the ear gel an easy decision. I hope this stays consistent, with no unpredictable setbacks.

We are gonna have to keep up the ear gel for 2 weeks, and his fur quality right now is still Extremely Greasy, but he's doing so,so much better today. I'm gonna wait a couple days to give him another bath, I don't want to stress him out when he's doing so good.

He ate a bunch of dry kibble on his own at breakfast, had more at lunch, had a bunch of treats and is drinking often. I am so fucking relieved, y'all. He is way more himself today, and is right back to committing crimes and purring and chittering at birds from the window. 😭

UPDATE! The appetite enhancer gel is WORKING! We had to force feed him 10ml of slurry at a time all yesterday, but this morning, for the first time since Saturday, he actually woke me up at 6am and did his morning routine breakfast begging!

Parsnip is home form the vet and has just set the record for the Medically Most Expensive cat in this house, de-throning Ham by about a thousand dollars. Look at this beautiful idiot, and wish him a speedy recovery!

A fluffy black cat with high rusting standing in a sunbeam, trying to will dinner into being two hours earlier than scheduled.

In a lot of pictures, Parsnip, a fluffy black cat, looks huge and majestic, but as you can see (diet Pepsi can for scale) he is actually the smallest cat in this house. He is three years old. He only weighs about 5 pounds and is mostly hair.

Bonus pic of Parsnip biting Ham, while Ham cries at me to rescue him instead of doing literally anything himself to curb this behaviour. Parsnip is deaf and cannot hear Ham crying, and probably thinks Ham is having a great time.

Force feeding him is awful, but he is slightly more cooperative than our senior cat was right before she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer. As long as he eats, he SHOULD get better, but this is a cat who is only interested in cat treats because the other two cats seem excited about them. 🙃

Thank you! The vet bill is HUGE but honestly it's a relief to know that he didn't swallow a shoelace or something. Hoping these appetite enhancers kick in fast, because his main problem right now is just that you need food to live, and he is very dumb and extremely stubborn.

Running theory right now is that the 2 wasps that flew into the house last week were actually 3 wasps, and the one he likely caught and ate stung him on the way down. If a wasp stung the inside of my mouth or throat I would probably also refuse food for a while. 😭

It is surprisingly not kidney issues, which was what we initially thought it might be! One of our other cats is on permanent perscription food for kidney issues, so I'm familiar with them. We use pretty litter for early blood in urine signs for that reason.

The appetite enhancer thing should help with his nausea, and is a weird gel that you smear inside his ear every 24 hours (for the next 2 weeks?!). I don't know how long it will take to kick in, but I'm gonna keep offering him food for the next hour and a bit.

Okay, so, the boy is home! They were at the vet for like 3 hours, and apparently on the ride home he decided he couldn't wait to use the litter box so he got a gentle sink bath upon entering the house that he thankfully cooperated with us about.

Okay, so, xrays done and nothing is going on in there that looks off. Emergency vet sending him home with appetite enhancers. Xrays added a grand to the emerg vet bill, fml. But at least we know for sure that he didn't swallow string/a toy/something plastic that would require surgery to remove.
