Keep suspected products off your skin. Look for noncomedogenic options. Wash pillowcases, bonnets and headbands carrying residue. Location is a clue, not a diagnosis. Every forehead breakout doesn’t have the same cause.

Third, apply moisturizer while skin is still damp. Fourth, check for fragrance-free, not just “unscented.” Fifth, choose a richer fragrance-free cream or ointment when skin needs it. Keep moisturizing between flares, too.

First, turn down the shower temperature. Warm water, 5–10 minutes, then gently pat dry. Second, keep cleansing gentle. Choose a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and skip harsh scrubbing. A huge lather isn’t proof that your skin is cleaner.

Many years ago @skincarebully.bsky.social taught me you can use a washcloth soaked in very hot water to make a steam tent for your face and it gets like 90% of the way to that post shower feel, highly recommend
