After a life of programming for over a decade I'd say I boiled this down to: - it's almost always something simple so get ready to become a practiced troubleshooter - the problems never really run out so you need to find joy (and the rhythm) in problem solving These hit esp. hard for solo stuff

A scene parodying the Neon Genesis Evangelion scene of Asuka and her Eva unit getting pierced by the spear of longinus. In this scene, Linguini and Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille take the place of the EVA unit and Asuka respectively. Linguinis eye is pierced by a fork version of the spear and Remy is depicted in an inset where he is grabbing his eye and screaming like the anime. There are anime subtitles at the bottom that say "AHHHHHHHHH!"

I'm definitely a fan of writing window controllers on separate Canvas layers, then plugging into visibility_changed as the initiation driver. Global context likely needs to be sourced elsewhere but this let me unify a lot of UI transition juice and init logic in a very maintainable way.

Incredible level of quality of submissions this year!! We did not hit top 100 in any category - but given that the GMTK Game Jam is now the largest jam with over 10k submissions, I'm super happy with us hitting top 10% in the ones just the two of us have put any effort in!
