wanted to post about some good things happening lately but then I realized I never updated bsky with the less great things from a month ago 😇

I have been a little MIA for a while now, and have finally reached a point where I want to address it because it's also coming to affect my publishing schedule. I won't go into too much detail, but 2026 has been incredibly difficult for inumberable reasons, the most debilitating being a sharp decline in both my physical and mental health. Some days it feels like a sisyphean task to do even the smallest of tasks. Naturally, this has had a huge impact on my writing schedule.

I am seeking medical support, but until T've found a good balance, I have to accept that I just need rest. I am a one-man team, for the most part, doing all of the drafting, developmental edits,
line
edits, and
proofreading on every project by myself, and the toll on my body has finally come to be paid.
The truth is, I'm not sure when my next release will be ready. Maybe after posting this I will immediately lock into a WIP and the words will come effortlessly and T'll have a follow up in a few weeks. Maybe I will continue to struggle for another six months. I hate not knowing. I hate not being able to plan! But I am struggling so much in every way, physically and mentally, and it is taking a huge toll on my ability to consistently work and muster up the inspiration to get things done.

Nothing is being shelved, nothing is being cancelled. I am in the process of changing some of my habits to try and make things easier in the background, and reaching out to people I think could help. VESPER TITHE is still coming, eventually, Im still working on Rowan Blood v5 when I can, and I have a dozen other WITs that I chip away at when the muse wants something completely different to work on in secret. My publishing schedule might look completely different from what I originally announced at the beginning of the year, but I will still be here to share stories with you as soon as I can.

My readers have always been so kind and encouraging, and I can't express how grateful I am for each and every one of you. Notifications about my books being tagged in posts, all of your comments and stories, have all been such a reminder of why I do this and want to keep doing it even on days it feels impossible. Thank you so so much.

Yvaíne has not returned to Spillwood since the village excommunicated him as a child. But when he finds one last opportunity to rescue his twin sibling from being sacrificed to the vampire lord in the old wood, he goes back a final time. But it's not the old lord waiting for him--a vampire knight has arrived in Spillwood, and is demanding a tithe be sent to the capital, Hollowsorn, to dream-walk the Evensong and learn his secrets. Yvaíne will do anything to protect his sibling, including take their place as the human tithe-even if it means having to revisit the cursed magic that once lost him everything.
