I played Onimusha last night. Maxed out the graphics, enabled frame gen and it was 144fps. Disabled frame gen and it was… 144fps lol. Runs so well. On my Legion Go S I get a high enough base frame rate to make use of frame gen.

Ironically the fact that DLSS5 slop is proprietary means no game can be designed around it because games will have to be designed with upcoming consoles in mind, as well as non-Nvidia GPUs. So it can only ever be additive like Gameworks was.

Was recently given a little 14" Thinkpad with Intel 8th gen and only 8GB of *unupgradable* RAM. Installed Linux Mint Xfce on there and it absolutely flies. Crazy how older, lower powered machines can be revived just by installing a modern OS that isn't Windows.

I love games, but I’m more convinced than ever that people need at least one hobby outside the games/anime/manga/etc bubble to get some perspective. I’ve jumped head first back into death metal this year and it’s actually made games more fun as all the toxicity just doesn’t matter anymore.

People might argue ‘$80 is cheap actually due to inflation’ or some similar metric, but the only metric that actually matters is what people can afford. And if more games are $80, people will buy less games. GTA6 is one of the few games that can get away with it.
