I just released flannrust — a Rust port of nanoflann with Python bindings. Bit-exact with the C++ original. Faster than SciPy/sklearn on most workloads. pip install flannrust For full details, see my blog post : itzikbs.com/blog/posts/2...

flannrust — A Faster nanoflann in Rust with Python Bindings
flannrust is a bit-exact Rust port of nanoflann, the C++ kd-tree library. Faster parallel builds, identical search results, and Python bindings that outperform SciPy's cKDTree. Benchmarked end to end.

The academic Twitter cycle: JEV → ICLR 60k+ submissions → “the review system is broken” → 3,000 hot takes → everyone forgets about it → new outrage drops See you next week.

Hitting the 5-hour rate limit on the $100 Claude plan is secretly the best feature. It’s the only thing forcing me to actually take a break on the weekends.

I just encountered my very first LLM prompt injection hidden inside a paper I am reviewing. I made it a habit to run PDFs through an LLM specifically to check for this, but actually finding one is surreal. I feel violated. 💀🤖 #PeerReview #LLM #AcademicChatter

Julia Donaldson — the author of The Gruffalo — was just made a Dame by the King! She's written over 200 books for kids and got her start writing songs for TV. If a rhyming story has ever gotten stuck in your head, there's a good chance she's the one who wrote it.
