I went through Conversion "Therapy" Abuse from age 3 to 29. So yes, I fucking tried. I tried so much that my ultimatum was transition or die. Since then, even through horrors that would break most people, I still do not regret my choice to be the real me. I love being me. Death Before Detransition!

It's still a struggle to get people to envision the struggle for trans rights in terms of bodily autonomy, in terms of sex being a mutable characteristic that we have a right to alter without intervention or censure. It was a perfect wedge issue because cis people's discomfort went unchallenged.
