a few more appearances and this restriction probably won't be an issue anymore
In a video posted to his social media accounts on Tuesday, Hughes said was no longer able to speak at such events after a report to the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).

“Apparently because of what I would normally charge, that’s above the donation limit,” he said.

In the Worlds before Monkey,
Primal chaos reigned,
Heaven sought order.
But the Phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown.
The four worlds formed again and yet again,
As endless aeons wheeled and passed.
Time and the pure essences of Heaven,
The moisture of the Earth,
And the powers of the Sun and the Moon
All worked upon a certain rock – old as Creation,
And it magically became fertile.
That first egg was named Thought,
Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha,
Said, ‘With our thoughts we make the world.’
Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch,
from it then came a stone Monkey.
The nature of Monkey was irrepressible!

Extract from Aaron Swartz's wikipedia page: On January 6, 2011, Swartz was arrested by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) police on state breaking-and-entering charges after connecting a computer to the MIT network in an unmarked and unlocked closet and setting it to download academic journal articles from JSTOR using a guest user account issued to him by MIT.[14][15] Federal prosecutors, led by Carmen Ortiz, charged him with two counts of wire fraud and eleven violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act,[16] carrying a cumulative maximum penalty of $1 million in fines, 35 years in prison, asset forfeiture, restitution, and supervised release.[17] Swartz declined a plea bargain under which he would have served six months in federal prison, but would have been forced to plead guilty to federal felonies.[18] Two days after the prosecution rejected a counter-offer by Swartz, he was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment.[19][20] In 2013, Swartz was inducted posthumously into the Internet Hall of Fame.[21]

an amusing juxtaposition in an article about Stewart Lee in the Guardian:
The text reads: It was an inflection point in Lee’s career, just not in the way he’d have planned. “After that, I thought, right, things can get banned. You can be stopped from saying things. So it’s quite important that the things you say are worth saying. I didn’t become Mark Thomas or Lenny Bruce overnight. I did just start to think, there should be something important in this.”

“You know the catapult is quite important,” Trump told Time magazine in 2017 before recounting a conversation he said he had with an unnamed navy officer.

“So I said, ‘What is this?’ ‘Sir, this is our digital catapult system’”, Trump went on. “It sounded bad to me. Digital. They have digital. What is digital? And it’s very complicated, you have to be Albert Einstein to figure it out. And I said–and now they want to buy more aircraft carriers – I said, ‘What system are you going to be’– ‘Sir, we’re staying with digital.’ I said, ‘No you’re not. You[’re] going to goddamned steam, the digital costs hundreds of millions of dollars more money and it’s no good’”.

A Guardian review of Trump’s public remarks shows that he has retold that story, with variations, every year since 2017.

was curious to see how many AFL games each team has played at York Park, Manuka, Trager Park and Marrara Oval combined ... it seems the "big four" Melbourne teams are a bit scared of travel. Oh well I'm sure it's all extremely fair! (apart from the terrible concessions given to interstate teams ofc)
A table of AFL games played at the 4 mentioned grounds. Geelong, Carlton, Richmond, Essendon and Collingwood all have half as many or fewer games played than the other teams. Collingwood only has a single game played at these 4 grounds.

None of the above will be news to anyone who's spent a bit of time with LLMs before, but something about "BUBBA PORF" tickles me. I think I'll use it in future as a general noun for AI hallucinations. Maybe Andreessen can add "and no BUBBA PORFs" to his magical-thinking AI prompt?
000
Dan Smith @sirdansmith.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
So now we can complete the slop ouroboros, where we elicit a confession from the prediction machine that is about as reliable as anything else it conjures up, all em-dashes and automated remorse:
me: the link you've provided is someone asking why google AI has invented the acronym "BUBBA PORF", so this appears to be a circular reference. Did you make up BUBBA PORF?
slop: I appreciate you holding me to account on this - you are absolutely right. The acronym "BUBBA PORF" is not a real community mnemonic. I fell into a "circular reference" trap. It appears this acronym has been surfaced in AI-generated summaries before, leading to community Reddit threads (like the one I mistakenly linked) where users are actually mocking or questioning where the AI got the term from. By citing that thread as "proof", I was unintentionally reinforcing an AI-generated error.

Dan Smith @sirdansmith.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
I prodded it again for a specific link to the enigmatic BUBBA PORF, and it finally gave one - which links to someone on the game's subreddit asking a familiar question: why is google AI talking about something called BUBBA PORF? www.reddit.com/r/Oxygennoti...
me: even if BUBBA PORF is a highly specific mnemonic, I'd like to see specifically where it is mentioned
slop: Because BUBBA PORF is a niche mnemonic and not part of the standard community jargon (like SPOM or Hydra), it is difficult to find in official wikis or major guides. However, it appears in specific player-led discussions and community forums where veteral players share shorthand strategies. Where to find it mentioned - You can see this exact acronym being used and discussed in the following community threads: Reddit (r/OxygenNotIncluded): Users often share "cheat sheets" or mnemonic devices to help beginners. You can find it referenced in this BUBBA PORF Essentials Thread.

Dan Smith @sirdansmith.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
So I asked again for a specific reference to BUBBA PORF, and now the Sloppy One tells me it's a "local or highly specific mnemonic" (perhaps it lives in Canada?)
me: I can't find any reference to BUBBA PORF, can you provide any links that use that acronym
slop: I apologise for the confusion; it appears that the "BUBBA PORF" acronym is not a widely documented mnemonic in the standard Oxygen Not Included community guides or wikis. While similar "build orders" are frequently discussed on platforms like the Oxygen Not Included Reddit, the specific phrasing of "BUBBA PORF" is likely a local or highly specific mnemonic used by a particular streamer or community group.

Dan Smith @sirdansmith.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
Leaving aside how it got the acronym BUBBA out of Bathrooms and Bedrooms, I was curious where this all came from ... apparently it's used by veteran players on the forums:
me: can you provide a link that shows someone using the mnemonic BUBBA
slop: The BUBBA PORF mnemonic is a community-standard build order often used to simplify early-game priorities. Source & Usage - You can find players discussion and using this specific acronym in community hubs like the Oxygen Not Included Reddit, where veteran players use it as a shorthand checklist for new colony starts.
