I just watched Obsession and the scariest thing about the movie had to be the little ways the girl playing Nikki altered her tone when she was hysterical. Like...She clearly wasn't really crying, but the way she drew out certain words was so unnatural and the way she MOVED? Chills.

Update!!! I have a full cast! ...minus Jimi Hendrix. A colleague floated the idea of recording an actor playing Jimi Hendrix and have him appear on a screen as a sort of multimedia element. This would also help mitigate the need for the actor to be PHYSICALLY available. Modern solutions? 🤔

Does ANYONE have a possible explanation for why I have VIVID memories from the early 00s of my Dad talking about Hailey's Comet passing through? I was born in 95, and it last appeared in 86. Only thing I can think of is he meant Hale Bopp (97) but I doubt I would recall a convo from when I was 2 🤔

I'm so excited! I just got the news yesterday that the first full-length play I've written is approved to be performed this summer at my local theatre! I'll also be directing it. This is scary. And fun! But frightening. And exciting? AAAAAAAAA here's some art I made for it

CW: childhood trauma I wrote a poem about my relationship with my mother. I can't share it where she can see it, and that hurts a lil bit but it is what it is. Cathartic writing is cathartic writing. 🙃

If every human life is a song
then I suppose it's not a stretch to say

For better or worse, each note of my melody
was meticulously placed upon a staff
and set in front of me from a very young age

“Go on. Play it,” you’d say
and I would stumble my way through
fingers trying desperately to reach each key
hands contorting with grotesque effort
as I attempted to play each note flawlessly

And at the end of my rendition?
No heartfelt congratulations
No sincere approval
Only “constructive” criticism
