Happy #NewMusic Friday! Trying not to get too overwhelmed by Indigo da Souza's Precipice. ADORE her last 2 (both AOTY level for me) so was nervous after not vibing with the singles. In the context of the album tho, they really work. 🔥🔥🔥so much emotion 💔🥹😭🥲 open.spotify.com/album/7vVrYk...

My teenage son said I should listen to Alex G. So I am listening to Alex G. I think I might be too old for Alex G as I think the G in Alex G might stand for "Guff". I am also unable to accept the non-consensual sax within his songs. I feel very aged rn. #music #NowPlaying

I don't usually accept #DnB but the new Rufige Kru (a #Goldie alias responsible for some early 90s bangers) is surprisingly solid and (mostly) doesn't suffer from the relentless boom-tish drum work that makes the genre so often unlistenable open.spotify.com/album/4Rqkoy... #NewMusic #spotify

So I'm experimenting with YT Shorts aboutt #VPN, which are much harder to do than they look! This is the last of my first batch that I filmed in one day. I think I did ok for a first try but I'm keen to have another crack and step it up. Any feedback appreciated 🙏 www.youtube.com/shorts/LBXDo...

Another browser extension ownership change gone wrong. The owner of "Browser Boost Extra Tools For Chrome" sold the extension and transferred it late January. Didn't take long for it to go bad for 30,000 users. The new code redirected users dynamically to whatever pages the new owner chose.

I vaguely remember Kitchens of Distinction from the pages of Melody Maker and NME back in 1991/2 but as I was but a young teen obsessed with Neds, Nirvana, Metallica & Mudhoney, I never listened. Boy, did I miss out! open.spotify.com/album/17842n... #music #indie #shoegaze

My #AOTW is the new Miki Berenyi Trio record, a lovely continuation from those early Lush records. Swirling and melodious guitars, twinkly synths, gorgeously ethereal vocals with a bit of bite to them, and laidback groovy beats. I hope it blows up! open.spotify.com/album/6mp7bE... #NewMusic #Music

Turns out if you have a sudafed, 6 espressos and 3 giant chocolate cookies from Waitrose and wear a Garmin sports watch, you'll get at least one, possibly multiple, "WTF are you doing???" heart-rate alarms. Who knew?

I wish Gazoonga Attack would reissue their truly wonderful EP, Your Girlfriend is Shit and their only album, Sex Nerd. They aren't on streaming, while the CDs were self-released in small numbers. Their music almost impossible to find even via file-sharing. Such a shame, it's so good! #punk #music

Continuing my theme of Aussie #punk, today I am diving into Hard Ons, who are now fronted by Tim Rogers of You Am I, which I can't quite get my head around. Pretty good stuff and streets ahead of what they were doing in the 80s #NowPlaying #music

I'm replacing my record player stylus & thinking of upgrading to the micro-linear version of my AT-VM95 cartridge. It's pricey though at £125 for just the stylus vs £30 for the elliptical one. Is it worth it? I've been happy with the stock version until now but i'm very tempted #vinyl #music #HiFi

I promise I'm not one of those stuck-in-my-youth bores but following my #Manics discog run and while I wait for their new record, I'm now doing a #Suede run. They really are a special band with a wonderful career arc with distinct acts: The Butler Years; Commercial Success; and Back From The Dead.

Loving the new J Mascis single out today (I think). Modern day J is very often beautifully melancholy both in his lyrics and vocals but also his playing. It makes me feel a certain way. Hope this means we get a new album! open.spotify.com/album/6tvbC6... #NowPlaying #Music #DinosaurJr #JMascis

On a Manics discog run ahead of their new album (now delayed, boo). Does any band in history have such a weirdly variable body of work? Such highs but also truly abysmal lows. The biggest hits def have a vibe but they have done some weird shit too over the years man. What a band #NowPlaying #Music

I really LOVE the track Terminator, it paved the way for #jungle and still slaps 33 years later. It's been remastered and repressed for the 1st time since its 1992 original release. I'm SO tempted but £30ish (incl. postage/taxes) is a bit steep metalheadz.bandcamp.com/album/termin... #bandcamp

I mainly talk about music on here but this is what I'm doing while listening! It's v interesting research, as it both identifies vulnerabilities in tunneling protocols AND shows results of scans of the entire IPv4 internet (3.7BN addr.) plus 10M IPv6 addr. to identify the 4.2M affected hosts.
