Evil Dead Burn is the only horror movie my otherwise slasher-buff kid noped out of. (I showed her A Nightmare on Elm Street yesterday and she said it was fun and she wants to see more Freddy movies. She's a big fan of Scream too. She saw Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness and called them "boring".)

A Nightmare on Elm Street. I was nine at the time. I re-watched it yesterday and it definitely still holds up. Although it was funny to note how much of Nightmare's DNA there is in the Scream movies. Especially Scream 3.

I want to really highlight that this is an in-the-tent critique. And it's probably part of the reasoning behind bringing back RDJ to play Doom along with bringing back Chris Evans - they haven't established a *new* Tony / Steve dynamic so they'll try to back-fill with a simulacrum of it.

A core critique of the MCU right now is that there are too many characters; there's no focus, no main character. Those people who are fans of the MCU complain that the absence of the Tony / Steve dynamic has left the franchise bloated and directionless.

I suspect that the Avengers Doomsday comics will be a lead in to Secret Wars where the multiverse collapses and Doctor Doom becomes God Emperor until Reed Richards hugs it out with Molecule Man who is secretly Doom's god battery. I read that comic series. It had the emotional heft of a feather.
