If nothing else AI is making clear that there are people all around us for whom writing, art, and music are not communion with another mind, but just - wallpaper. Just pleasant things to look at. They think AI is conscious because they have no actual grasp of what it is to encounter another mind.

That time some lovely authors wrote stories, artist Nancy Brown screen printed them onto linen, I sewed the linen onto other hand-printed material and made them into lots of fringed pillows to be strewn around Brisbane Writers Festival venues. They were all 'acquired' as the Festival progressed.
