Anyone know of any student-led anti-GenAI campaigns in UK schools? My daughter hates the amount it gets used *by the school itself* and wants to do something…

@tj I'm guessing that the 'since the start of time' figure. We've had it since 2022 and used it more in the earlier years, so *maaaaybe* it adds up. Not bothering to go back that far and check though.

Woolies claims in their Delivery Unlimited renewal notice that we've saved $2,264. But that didn't seem right so I just counted it up. We've had 13 deliveries in the past year. At $15 a pop, that's $195. And at $149/year for the subscription, that'd make a saving […] [Original post on bne.social]
A feedback form asking: What's your main reason for cancelling today?
Quality of fresh produce
Delivery experience
Substituted or missing items
Subscription cost
Minimum spend per order
Delivery times or options
Other reason
Other reason is checked with the note: Honestly? All of the above. But what tipped the scales is deceptive marketing in the renewal email.

I think the main thing I've learned so far from having a car with an internet connection and companion app is how often we forget to lock the doors. Please don't rob us.

@tj is 'more' best measured by weight or item with nerds? i concede they'd tend toward the same measure as volume increased, but at that level, it could be significant. (this post is really advice for your children who are probably looking for a vaguely plausible argument to make/have anyway)

[bad news; e-bikes] This is awful news, but good job to the Guardian for correctly assigning the actions to the rider (not to the inanimate object they were riding, as too often happens). #cycling

"Trump's new AI website confirms he lost the 2020 election." I just don't care. Children are being deported, alone, without due process. People are being held in terrible conditions. Protesters are being shot. Protections are being eradicated. Wars are being waged. Elections undermined. Yes […]

Out tonight seeing the kid in another show. She’s a guitarist but has been talked into filling in on the bass. Has never played bass before. I’m somewhat nervous on her behalf.

Not exactly what I'd call high quality visits though. No complaints though, I still think it's a cool idea and very much like that it exists, thanks @kagihq. And to be fair these stats aren't much worse than the non-kagi referrer visits.
Graphic showing bounce rate is 99% and average visit duration is 5 seconds.

Australia to join Japan, Italy in deaths outpacing births
Australia is getting much older, and it is getting older faster than previously thought. But the major political parties are currently in a race to cut the greatest source of resilience against that trend: migration.

A bunch of websites I run now have Singapore as the top country for visitors and this curious pattern. I wonder where the bots live (and what time they're awake)? (This is from whatdoyousuggest.net — I can't imagine what the bots want with it, tbh.)

Okay, I've gone with vanilla js. Things I learned (at great length) last night about Safari 9: - trailing commas are a syntax error and will break *everything* - none of the useful methods of FormData are supported — not even sure what you'd use it for without them - "template literals" aren't […]

I continue to find normal words that are straight up missing from the macOS Dictionary.app. Unintuitively, the word unintuitive doesn't get a red underline even though it's not in the dictionary.
A search for the word 'unintuitive' with "No results"A screenshot of the composition of this post showing 'unintuitively' getting a red underline to suggest it's misspelled while 'unintuitive', despite being missing from the dictionary, is deemed fine.
