DO NOT FEAR THE REFERENCE! My brain conjures goats that look like predators, because I drew a lot of Dinos/dragons as a teen and now my art is deeply influenced by that. Real goats are nibblin little doofuses. Use a reference!

Helpful reminder that if references help your art, you should use references. Drawing from memory is a neat party trick, but there’s no art police that will hold a gun to your head and demand it. Using references is normal and fine and helpful for many.

@berkeleyeve.bsky.social - here’s my cheap-ass bobbin lace setup. The pillow is extruded styrofoam wrapped in cheap cotton. The bobbins I got on Amazon. The pattern is free from TheEdkins, copied onto tiny-square graphing paper. Flat-head pins are better than round-head. Total: <$50
