The smoke alarm decided that 4 in the morning was a great time to announce that it needed a new battery by going off like there was an actual fire and it's uncommon to have such a direct conflict of being glad to have something while also wanting to punt it through a wall.

Noctilucia is a much smaller cat than Halifal. So much so that if Halifal is standing still, Noctilucia will sometimes duck down a little and walk right under Halifal's belly. It looks so adorable but every time they do that I don't have a camera ready to record it!

In February of 2025, I helped a rescue catch a feral cat. She started bonding with me prior to that, so after spending time at the rescue, they allowed me to take her into my home. Today marks one year since I brought Noctilucia in. She changed a lot since then, for the better. #GotchaDay

Adventures in adopting a previously feral cat: Noctilucia discovered that she loves being brushed. She'll lean to the side and bend her back to press her butt against the bristles. And then I'll go to brush Halifal and Noctilucia will keep interrupting me because she wants more brushing.
