I also think it’s v difficult to successfully impose visuals on series which have lived mainly in readers’ imaginations for decades. Everyone has their own idea of what Merriman Lyon (or Fflewddur Fflam, or Meg Murray, etc.) looks like, how do you please everyone?

Yeah, it’s been so long since I’ve read them that I don’t remember how much actual camera-capturable action there is (in *any* of the series I listed) vs impressions that go on inside the characters’ heads. There may not be enough content to work well onscreen, for all my fond memories.
