one of the deepest sicknesses in the world are the people who feel personally attacked over other people getting the same rights as them

Incredible finds. So we've got a Republic Seabee, Barkley-Grow T8P-1, Avro Anson, and a de Havilland Dragon Rapide. The T8P-1 is still around in a museum in Calgary, apparently. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barkley...

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

Partner got talked into a Charmera by one of the Freestyle reps at our local photo expo this morning. Managed to land the chrome one. They’re completely entranced.

today's hardware designers could never conceive of what Kazuo Kawasaki was doing in 1996

A colorful retro computer setup featuring a purple keyboard, a small teal touchpad, and a teal circular CD-ROM drive with a matching keypad-style controller resting on top. The hardware is arranged against a dark background in a vivid purple-and-turquoise color scheme.

The factory was right down the Genesee river from Kodak, if I'm remembering my Rochester geography correctly. Sadly like so many things, the brand has now been sold off.

Well exposed chromes are just the pinnacle of film. Getting it exposed right is a challenge though. Back when film was still relatively cheap, I'd just default to bracketing +/- 1/2 of a stop for almost every frame. That's obviously completely cost prohibitive at this point.

14 hours later and my mentions are still full of angry treatises about badly behaved cyclists. Bike lanes are not a reward for good cyclist behavior! They are infrastructure proven to make cities safer for ALL ROAD USERS. Whatever way cyclists have wronged you is irrelevant to the discussion!

‘Good photography isn’t about Zone Printing or any other Ansel Adams nonsense. It’s just about seeing. You either see or you don’t see. The rest is academic. Photography is simply a function of noticing things. Nothing more.’ Elliott Erwitt, New York, 1992. Photo Peter Adams.
