THE KICKBACK ☀⚡ @the-kickback.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Today we would like to recognize Ken Sample aka Ken Cougar. A Black man who is credited with creating and coining the term "Fursona". While drawing one of his "Exotics" Ken drew a Cougar character that looked strikingly like himself. Attendees of this conference also wanted their own characters!

a drawing by ken sample of the character ken cougar

Ken cougar on a Ken Sample portfolio #1. Ken cougar is inbetween two female furries. On the left is a fox and on the right is a cheetah! There are other drawings scattered in the backround

An old painting that's been up in the museum for decades. There's an old plaque below it: "Little is known about the Dweller of the Liminal Pools, beyond that it exists. When it speaks, it supposedly doesn't open its mouth. No one is sure if it's friendly, neutral, or aggressive."

The #feralrequiem devs challenged me to draw the character Admin, an eyebleeding OC that's occasionally used. I hope they all enjoy it, I did have fun working on it.

did some art the other day, here's a full color ref sheet for one of my characters :3 #furry

a front and back of an emaciated cat-esque divinity; its coat is dark gray with dark blue-gray and black stripes; it has three arms shown, though the shoulders and upper arms are missing, along with it's neck from just under its head to its collarbones; its scars, pawpads, nose, inside it's neck/head, and eight gashes in it's chest are shades of bright blue, indigo, and purple; its hair and the sclara of its eyes are pitch black, along with the ends of its limbs, with its pupils being a vivid gold/yellow; the background is a medium blue color with a paler blue cross shape around the character itself; the text reads: "Deity of Balance and Chaos | Avairon, AKA: - Ancientrock - Avirock | It/Its or voi/void"

For FeralHeart Unleashed's Valentines Day thing, enjoy Sil having the standard Aroace moment of being disgusted by couples. (Please note that I'm also Aroace, and this is 100% just picking on some friends.)

So made an OC for a silly little Roblox game I really like. Honestly, really happy with how she came out :D I like the shading, too. The game's called Apparition hospital, done by Khali. More info on my Tumblr or DA.

From Then to Now: Debora More info in the alt

Piece on top was done when I was 13, all the way back in 2011-ish. I was a kid, still workin' on learning how to draw, and unsure how far I'd go.
The lower is from today. 2025, 14 years later. More than an entire lifetime. I went from an awkward, unsure, and shy 13 year-old who was terrified of the world around her, to a fairly confident, introvert who realized who he was, has transitioned completely, and is a graphic artist by trade. I think, if kid me could see me now, I think he'd be happy.
Anyways. Enjoy the art!

There's a reason that Fluttershy doesn't trust many ponies within my MLP AU. She does get help, and does get better, but she's been through hell and back, and has both the scars and trauma to prove it.

So yesterday I learned about Ava Cordero, a transgender woman who, in 2007, sued Jeffrey Epstein alleging he sexually abused her when she was 16. Her lawsuit was filed in 2007 while Epstein was negotiating a plea deal in Florida for abusing other girls, but her claims were mocked and dismissed

Pages of the NY Post from 2007 featuring Ava Cordero under the headlines "GENDER BENDER SHOCKER" and "S(HE) HAS A HISTORY"

Hey. Hey. Please don’t wait for an indie book series to be finished before you pick up the books. Just buy them. Don’t wait. So MANY indie series never get finished because the author gets zero sales on the opening volumes and gives up. Give them a reason to keep going. Buy the books.

By the age of 30, you should have: - a Bluesky account - a favorite spoon - an account on Twitter that you can't quite bring yourself to delete but you know in your heart that the site will most likely get seized by an international agency at some point & get closed completely - back pain

Sil Alaxander @silexists.bsky.social · 12/02/2024

so i made some art of my hoyoverse oc. he started out as just a #genshinimpact oc, then became also a #honkaistarrail oc too. this is Dearin Grimhilt, and hoo boy, his lore. in teyvat, he's a hydro sword, while in star rail, he's a quantum <no clue on path yet>. he's also #trans and #gay . #art

a black and white, traditional drawing in pen and pencil of a Hoyoverse original character named Dearin Grimhilt, with a modified mullet, with short hair in back, and longer hair on the sides and bottom. he has a strong nose, a five o'clock shave, and multiple piercings, one on the bridge of his nose, on his eyebrow, and two on his bottom lip

the picture of the same hoyoverse oc, but now colored. he has tan skin with red cheeks, his hair and beard are a dark blond/light brown, and the long parts of his hair is blue. his piercings are there, along with two in the shell of his ear. his eyes are a dark blue, and he has dark grey/black burns on his shoulder/neck/chest. he has an outline around him in blue (top left) and purple (bottom right)

same as last picture, but now revealing shiny paints accenting the highlights in his hair (blue for the long parts and gold for the shorter), eyelashes (black), eyes (same blue as hair), scars (dark grey/black), and outline (blue and purple)
