right that's dumb as rocks, and you can see why CEOs like it. but if you want to do it right, the information elaborating and compressing structures are going to look a lot different and have a lot more robotic bits. still with plenty of people, but a very different structure.

yyyes, although if you think of the agents in a business organization sense you can get smarter about where to put the humans, which I suspect will end up looking better than what's happening now. certainly it ups the ante as far as keeping those uh load-bearing humans around and happy, as you say.

I generally agree with this thread, but I feel like the sort of reductio ad absurdum here is that you can never scale anything, and of course that's not true, it's just hard, and you have to be thoughtful and expert about it, as (some) people (eventually) learned after the original M M-M
