Update: They are now here! Huzzah! (For those wondering, I'd ordered That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novels 14-17, which completes my English collection until book 23's translation finally comes out.)

Wait, I can just put an align property in <hN> tags? Sweet! Take that, random div's!

One of the more important things I've been slowly internalizing is that I don't have to grow up to be anyone but me.

Japanese's ability to be vague can lead to some really awkward translations sometimes. XD

I remember, when I was a kid, the idea that there could be more than 151 Pokémon blew my mind. I think I hadn't realized that people just *made them up*. Like, when I was that young, stuff just kinda popped into existence. It wasn't until later that I understood that things are made by people.

Yes! The books I ordered are "Out for delivery" and should indeed be arriving today!

Sientir @sientir.com · 08/10/2026

I'm waiting on a shipment of books to arrive, and I think that influenced my dreams last night, because I had one where a UPS truck pulled up next to our house and kept unloading various sized packages for my dad, and I kept hoping maybe my box would be there among them.

Another one: sientir.neocities.org/anime/2026_s... My (somewhat short, definitely has spoilers, but not as much as some) review of Daemons of the Shadow Realm. Weird title choice, I'm pretty sure that isn't at all a translation of the Japanese name (Yomi no Tsugai), but here we are!

I really do find myself circling around the same ideas again and again. I do keep figuring out new things each time, but it's clear to me that I also forget how much I've already explored... (This might sound mysterious, but once I finish some of what I'm working on, I might just share.)

I'm tired of tech hype-trains that go nowhere, but sucker a bunch of people into climbing onboard. :/ There've been so many lately. It's really frustrating.

How is this pink paint so incandescent?!

Sientir @sientir.com · 07/10/2026

I finished a review of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 (at least, the two cours released so far): sientir.neocities.org/anime/2026_s... Warning: It does contain spoilers. And also a summary up through season 3. A very brisk one. Very brisk.

Every now and then Discord gives me a little three-option survey about how a call went, but that only ever seems to happen for calls that went well. XD

Sientir @sientir.com · 05/10/2026

These changes are interesting. I'm overall in favor of them! What is particularly interesting to me is the dynamic created by removing common/uncommon foils from the regular Booster Pack.

I love how much her skin and hair contrast with the verdant green around her, and reflections in water are fun. :D

I'm somewhat thrown off by the fact that October is 10 because I'm used to writing 0X for the month part of the date. I keep having to catch myself! A small thing, but an interesting one, I thought.

000

Sientir @sientir.com · 02/10/2026

I keep wanting to write "octagram" (which seems to mostly show up in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, since the typical shape in English is an octagon) as "octogram," and I wonder if that's because of October being "octo" and not "octa," maybe?

Making a budget was one of the smartest financial things I did. It lets me process cash flow and understand when I'm able to spend money on things I want, and when I have to avoid (or wait before) doing so. It's so helpful being able to make informed financial decisions!

MineCraft is a game where you mine for resources that you then use to craft things. StarCraft is a game where you command a sci-fi army in battle.

I really like how casual these feel. There's also something about the quality of the light that feels nostalgic.

It's become readily apparent to me that I have a tendency to try to mirror pretty heavily, of wanting to feed people what I think they want to hear, probably to avoid conflict. It does require accurately understanding what they want to hear, which I can be wrong on.

"But every time I thought I was ready to walk away, something would happen to make me press on. New artists shared jaw-dropping art. New fans sent positive messages of affirmation. The community was thriving and, a little at a time, there was just enough support to keep going."

This is an excellent article about community. Sure, it's specifically about naturist communities, but the basic concepts apply regardless of the community. Boil it all down, and what it means is that if you want to be a real part of a community, then you have to take responsibility for it, too.

Influences, streamers and content creators! I'd love to make you a free hat! My name is Sara Winters and I run @wheremyhatisat.bsky.social - I do custom embroidery, especially nerdy stuff. I'm a gamer and MTG player and blind, and make custom hats, + would love to trade some product for visibility.

A photo of four embroidered hats, the top one is yellow and says "Thall's Balls Sports Complex" in black. The next one down is a Sharlayan Studium hat of lavender text on a navy hat. Next down is an interpretive version of Kefka from FF6 with the text "u mad"? Finally, at the bottom, in lavender, is Brave Little Pogchamp in the Eorzean language on a hat.

A blue hat embroidered with "Really? Right in front of my" followed by images of two blue mana symbols from MTG.

A black hat with embroidery. There is an orange kitten holding a hand of trading cards with white text that reads "I scoop at instant speed"

A purple hat with embroidery. There is a white kitten holding a a green book with white text that reads "don't bother me, I'm reading"

This reminds me of that "Homer disappearing into the hedge" meme and gave me a good laugh. :D Though, I'm not sure how pleasant the experience was for the model. Climbing into the plants like that requires dedication!

Now that is a HAT! 😂 Humor aside, I also feel like she could be portraying someone absolutely terrifying in DUNE.

Mirror posing generally makes me happy. They're so interesting—I often find myself wondering what poses look like from other angles, and mirrors provide! They also add compositional interest.

I've been playing Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition lately (it finally, after many years, went on sale), and I've been enjoying it a ton. The gag of Linkle constantly going the wrong way is amusing. I also like her gimmick of having an army of cuccos. :D

You know what'd be a useful anti-scammer security feature for email? Don't show "usernames" with emails. Just show the From address. That said, you should be allowed to put a nickname that shows up instead of the email when getting mail from a familiar address in your contacts.

These flowers are beautiful, but I'm reposting it because the third photo (lower left) reminds me of Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks, and that gave me a laugh. :)

I'm trying something out by writing reviews of anime I've watched this last season. I ended up starting with Victoria of Many Faces, mostly because it was only 9 episodes long, so I finished it first: sientir.neocities.org/anime/2026_s... (Warning: These do contain spoilers!)

In retrospect, real-life politics as entertainment has proven to be a terrible idea.

Holy crap, I just got an ad for Peacock (or w/e, probably, doesn't matter) that was all about Destiel. XD XD XD

Something I really like is spaces within spaces. For example, I remember sectioning off an area under my bunk bed with sheets when I was a kid, and that made a cool separated area within my room. Similarly, the idea of a bed with curtains and a canopy (w/e that's technically called) is appealing.

The colors are really pretty! I especially like the feel of the third one. I think part of that is the lighting. I also like the enchanted feeling that it has.

Of #GuildWars2 metas, I usually expect them to succeed EXCEPT for Dragon's End and Into the Spider's Lair (or w/e the Eparch meta's name properly is). Those are real crapshoots that I usually expect to fail, with the latter being especially likely. (I feel like DE needs +5 minutes on the timer.)
